Additional Citibank Rewards points on supermarket spend

Well it didn't take 5 business days. Got a call back today. She told me she calculated about $2,500, I said it should be about $2,900. So we went thru the transactions during the promotion period and ended up with a $3000 figure. She's now going to send an email to the relevant dept and have the full 20K points credited to me. She said it should be there by tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Hoping to transfer to Velocity before 31 Oct to get the 15% bonus!

Well it didn't arrive on the Friday. Called up on Monday, but the lady who handled my query was on another call, so I was promised a call back. A few hours later she did call back and apologise and said would follow up. This morning, about 13K points hit the account and still missing 7K. She said yesterday that she would be monitoring my account and call me in the afternoon.

I also called last week as I received my statement and my bonus points from Supermarket shopping wasn't applied. They applied them and I have now received them. That is the second time in 2 months that I had to chase up missing bonus points. It pays to check each statement and add them up manually.

Thanks to the nice customer service officer who called me every day to keep me updated, all points have arrived and a transfer to Velocity was promptly made.

From this, we know that Citibank's system of awarding bonus points are not as reliable as Amex's.

Now eagerly waiting for the next promotion...
