There are currently 2 cancellations so you can be added in if you like? Final confirmation at 12noon Wed.All right. Looks like my dads birthday will be Saturday lunch so I’m happy to sneak in for a short hello or pre-drinks(?) or sit on the waiting list,
will be followed all evening with the Tassie state election too although given Antony Green and the Hare-Clark the result is likely predictable.....
Mattg, thanks for your kind offer. Regrettably, HWINB (he who is never obeyed) has now made alternative arrangements in ADL next Sat 1 May so please proceed without him. Perhaps I (or he) will be able to catch up with some of you at a future AFF Dinner!
I've just submitted my SA Cross Border Travel Request...
Can someone give me a link, please?
Cost: $42 per person
Payment: Please bring cash, I will be paying the restaurant next week to confirm the booking. PM me if you prefer to do payid.
Drinks: As the restaurant is strictly no split bills, I will bring a notepad for you to keep track of your drinks and it would be appreciated if you could bring sufficient cash on that day to cover your drinks.
Here's the Form:Ta.
Just checking - the app's only function is to provide the QR code scanner for checking into places? The actual visitor entry rego is via the web site? (Which I've done successfully).
My first interstate trip with all the new state registration/permit stuff. I'm as nervous as when I'm applying for an international visa for the first time!
How's the food at Lot10? Will put on the list for next time as it is much easier. All sounds great @Aeolus, thanks for organising.
On Sunday I went to a lunch at nearby restaurant Lot 10. I am only mentioning it because for the organiser, life was much easier than this -
At Lot 10 the till is at the entrance, everybody paid $60 on arrival for 3 courses (choice of main course) and coffee/tea, and any other drinks were 'pay as you go' at the bar. No messing around with cash, finding change for the person who only has a $50 or $100 note, dealing with the person who forgot to bring any cash or having to keep track of who was ordering what to drink. And the food was good too. Absolutely not a criticism of this event, just a data point for future reference for future AFF functions. (I think I might mention it to Jasmine tomorrow when I walk past )
haha - I will try to bring as many coins as possible or it will go to the server(s) as tips. For those that are doing BYO, it will be $60 exactly so hope that's the case.So @Aeolus exactly $42 cash. If someone brings a $50 you get a tip,
Yes, did the on line form successfully. So, I still need the App - but only for the QR code ‘check in’ scanner, right? You still need the APPlication.
And they do police mask wearing. Everywhere at the airport. For all coming in from interstate, ADL airport have removed the physical arrival desk check-ins with the raffle ticket given to you to show the police that you have been processed - thank goodness!!! There will be police and a few staff hanging around the arrival gate asking you to scan the barcode and that's it so it is so much quicker to get out of the airport.

And makes you somewhat incognito if needed.I like mask wearing. I look so much better.
You don't need to download the app, just scan and fill the web form and you're ok to go, once you've done it once, when you scan the next time, the details will be there and all you need to do is to scan and press check in. I still haven't downloaded the app after all this while in ADLYes, did the on line form successfully. So, I still need the App - but only for the QR code ‘check in’ scanner, right?
and I see Victoria only has a ‘transit’ option if you are coming from an Orange or red zone. If you are coming from Green, then a transit is treated the same as subbing to stay, for a visitor. And I need separate Vic permits for each way travel, on consecutive days, as it records your origin and destination.
SA permit I’m pleased to see lasts for a while.

Hi there, can you confirm if your +1 will be taking the slot that has opened up per @Mattg 's message above? Thanks.Hi all, I've never been to an AFF dinner and have only just noticed the promotion for Adelaide / 1 May 21.
I can't make it myself but HWINO (he who is never obeyed) will be in Adelaide that night and is interested, though he's not an AFF member.
What are the chances if he applies for the wait list?
We've stayed in the ADL CBD several times recently and been amazed at how busy, relaxed and 'normal' Adelaide has been for many months compared with the rest of Australia. Importantly, restaurants and hotels are all doing strong business so my recommendation is BOOK EARLY, whatever you plan to do.
There are several brand new hotels in the CBD.
I recommend IHG's quirky Indigo (the first in Aus) and especially it's rooftop bar. An excellent Central Adelaide location. Very well thought out room designs too.
The unaligned Adelaide Oval Hotel is excellent but located slightly outside the main restaurant areas of the CBD, though fine if you don't mind a little walking. Possibly hard to book, especially if there's a game on at the oval that weekend (as almost certain). Excellent bars & restaurants.
The new IHG Crowne Plaza (don't confuse it with the old CP, which is is now a Pullman and assigned to Covid quarantine duties) is OK but in my view not up to the standard I expect of CP - from the outside it looks big and flash but inside the rooms are unimaginative. Crowding at the lifts, reception and restaurant entry is a problem - poor traffic design. Resaurant (Japanese/Aus fusion) is quite good. An even newer building under construction on the CP's northern boundary casts a shadow over the CP swimming pool for much of the day and almost obliterates the northern view. A real pity.
At the budget end Tom's Court is new but off limits - it's been assigned to housing confirmed Covid cases - stay well away!
My restaurant recommendation for daytime dining: Rent a car, drive to the Adelaide Hills (25 - 30 km) and visit the Pike & Joyce winery restaurant. Terrific high hilly vineyard views, great cuisine, impeccable but humble service. The 5 course tasting menu is a must, costs about $90 + $30 for a wine match. The quality justifies twice the price.

Thanks for your attention to this matter, it looks like you are very well organised!
I think based on post 125 that would be a 'no'.Hi there, can you confirm if your +1 will be taking the slot that has opened up per @Mattg 's message above? Thanks.
