Adelaide dinner or drinks 6th, 7th or 8th July

Dear All,

I'm not well known around here but I have occasionally visited AFF over a number of years.

I'm interested in attending but rather confused.

The AFF news email says that the event will be this coming Wednesday evening 8 July. Regrettably, the notice has arrived too late for me, I'm otherwise engaged that evening and likewise Monday 6 Jul, which also seems to be an option. However, it does seem from reading this thread that neither the date nor the venue are locked in as yet.

I don't want to complicate deliberations but if there was to be an evening event next week (13 - 16 July), preferably in the Adelaide CBD or eastern suburbs, I could probably attend.

Hi SIA1A, you don't have to be a regular to come along to any of these AFF meet ups - try to get to one if you can, I've found them to be lots of fun and a good way to learn more FF tips.

I'm visiting ADL on business from the 6th to 8th and have started this thread to see who is about and up for dinner or drinks. The 8th is now fixed and the 6th is an extra because a few couldn't make the 8th.

You should keep your eyes out for another one, or give it a week (or month) and start a new thread with a date or a few dates in the future that suits you are and see who is around.

If you travel interstate at all, start a thread for your destination, there are usually some locals who are able to help spread the word and take care of locations and reservations etc.

I don't travel interstate much and when I do I am, regrettably, usually rather busy with biz - either with my employer during the day or biz-social at night.

Is there much action on the AFF socialising front OS? Tomorrow, for example, I need to go to DXB for a few days and just might have a little spare time at some stage while there. EK is nice, in that while travelling I will have internet in-flight so could perhaps do a little organising.

That all said, I rarely know from one week to the next where I will be spending the night, so organising a dinner in a given city would not be a wise thing for me to do. It's a bit of a downer for all concerned if the hostess/host does not front up on the night!

There are a quite a few OS meets but many are planned a long way in advance so people have time to source cheap /award fares.

The only way to find out if someone is in the area you are travelling through (After checking the threads first) is to post the details, someone will respond - or they won't.

You can also post your travel in the lounge meets thread - or if you don't want to do that just review it to see if any other AFFers are in an airport lounge at the same time as you and PM them

Adelaide Convention Centre and Casino both have parking. Either is good for Riverside.
