Was it the Stamford / Swish bar...? There's also the Cascades coughtail bar downstairs which is cozy... all be it a little old fashioned...:shock:

Either Swish or the one downstairs is ok with me.

Great mini-meet tonight on top of the majestic rooftop garden hotel. Nice location to meet a couple of aff'ers over a drink or two. Thanks to Newk & Deka for a great night. Looking forward to next weeks drinks if we can get a gathering planned...

Yep it was the Stamford. I also like the Historian, which is crusty old pub territory. But that can be saved for another time.

I'm new to this and would be interested to join in one of your convivial imbibing soirees but later this year as enjoying the delights of Doha for a few months as the temperature gauge heads beyond the current 38 to 50 and involving a few days of Ramadan when the bars will no longer dispense what they should ... in fact they will not dispense anything as they will close for the duration ...
 
Been a bit too busy lately doing work stuff and haven't had the opportunity to catch up on the posts.

May 24 at the Stamford sounds fine to me; 5:30pm?
 
I've alerted kw1 to this thread as well. Not sure if they'll be in town or not.


BTW, I'll have to skip any dinner for 24 May at this stage.

Lets do dinner another night, I suggest we keep this casual, if some of us want to eat after drinks, then so be it, but lets keep it casual...

Also just found out that my wife (think borat) has a friend arriving from Perth at 9:45pm with late night drinks to happen at Glenelg, as well. Long night for me.
