ADL drinks & dinner Sat 9 August

I'm hoping to have a small supply of red wine for our dinner on Saturday - it does help knowing somebody who works for Yalumba. She's going to deliver to me :D

Unfortunately, the FDR 1A 2010 is out-of-stock... :( so I may need to source from another supplier.

Have settled on a selection of wines for my closest AFF friends:

https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_116541/yalumba-the-octavius-shiraz
. My price: $60

https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_32764/yalumba-the-menzies-cabernet-sauvignon. My price: $30.50

Good news: FRD1A I can get in 2011 vintage, they brought the bottling run forward :D. Bad news is that the price has gone up to $30.78 per bottle :o

2010 FDR 1A available at Dans @$37.99/bottle, so might collect a bottle of that vintage as well. Stonkingly good drop....

Have now confirmed my science alive shift on Saturday arvo. Means I can make a quick catch up for drinks between about 5 PM and dinner. Will keep an eye on the thread to see if anything eventuates.

Dinner not possible as there are family things to do.

You are going to the Hilton on Sat though ?

Hilton sounds too difficult given the limited space and such.

As the Star of Siam booking is not until 8pm, are we still meeting for drinks at Udaberri before hand?

I will be having a glass of something in the HH ADL lounge, but am happy to meet at say 7pm with all those not staying at the Hilton.

I'm still interested in a drink or two before dinner.

I thought there were three distinct groups:

1. Those out-of-towners staying at the Hilton
2. Those out-of-towners staying at the Crowne Plaza.
3. Those local Radeladians

My recollection is that Buzzard suggested something half way (Udaberri) - whilst also not being out of the way from Star of Siam.

Mrs QF WP and I will be in the Hilton ADL Exec Lounge from 6pm for drinks (IIRC that's opening time for alcoholic beverages). I'd be happy to meet at 7pm or shortly thereafter at Udaberri, on the way to the Star of Siam.

I recall that straitman, JessicaTam, Princess Fiona and Shrek, Mrs QF WP and I will all be at Hilton, so we'll (plus others) have a mini-meet over drinks to discuss our days activities

The menu - finally! :D

That should be plenty of food I think? So are we doing BYO? Where are we meeting for pre-drinks? If it's Hilton, I will need guesting.

Sounds delicious Aeolus. You're making me hungry.

It does sound like a few of us might hit Udaberri still before dinner.

For those that need some explanation for some of the dishes, refer to their menu here
I thought I have already done the translation (except for that extra dish for Jess) or do you mean from English to Thai?
Trust me, it'll be delicious, one of the best Thai restaurant in Adelaide. I've been there so many times that they know me by name:cool:

Yum!

I think there is a fair bit of wine being BYOed, but there is still a good wine list for those who aren't. Remember it is $15 per bottle.

As QF WP has suggested, 7pm at Udaberri, 8pm at Star of Siam?

There are a few staying at HH who may have a pre-drinks drink in the exec lounge. My partner is meeting me there at 6pm so I am not able to extend a family relationship to you Aeolus. You may get 'support' from some-one else, though. ;)

I have to be elsewhere at 7pm on Sat so I will have to be bronze for the drinks sorry.

Not wanting to put the cat among the pigeons but while the Hilton and Star of Siam are very close to each other, Udaberri is about a 10 minute walk away from there - I assume people realise that?

I will see everyone on Sunday :)

......and in the opposite direction to the Star.
