Gone for me for now
Same here on my Windows Laptop, and Android tablet. My Android phone is ok thoughI'm now also seeing ad's on my laptop. Chrome Version 90.0.4430.85
Our ad provider has made some changes which should address this issue. Please let me know if you (AFF Supporters) still see ads. Thanks for all the input. I've logged an issue with our ad provider. Hopefully this will be sorted soon.
That sound a bit harsh, I am not an admin on this site however in the 5 years I have been a member ads have never been a problem. The site rules seem to be quite simple join and if you pay some money adds disappear. This is no different to how most other forums and other social media platforms work, there is a cost in running forums and websites. There is another AU based frequent traveller site that I joined before aff, still visit, read the articles but rarely contribute to due to adblock settings on that site.So @Admin, did this ad problem come about because you were changing from google provided ads to someone else? (I sure this isn't the most correct terminology)
I'd suggest there's more ad spam than actual content on forum pages now. And the ads previously were a fairly general and harmless mix. Now they're very low class click bait stuff. Very.
If I'd only newly stumbled across AFF in the past weeks I wouldn't bother returning. I'm sure you'll have some metrics about new user engagement. Not sure they'd be pretty.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
Overwhelmingly agree. The ads have become so invasive that it's common to only be able to see a single forum post in a thread on a 13inch laptop. Bright ads. Flashing ads. I can appreciate there is a paid option to remove the ads, but as you mention, you need new members to generate paid members. So @Admin, did this ad problem come about because you were changing from google provided ads to someone else?
