Advice on champagne

Look like a pretty cool chiller concept (if it works). Are these common - would be keen to get something that can keep more than one bottle cool in summer.

Just started googling around for a case of champers for Christmas. I was thinking of 30% off at BWS with a further 5% Wish card & 10% employee (Jnr still has a card). Gobsmacked to see the 'standard' price at BWS for Verve non vintage is $85  Even stacking that with the discounts only brings it down to $50.87. The advertised price at Dan's is $52.95 and Liquorland $65.

Do Woolies add 30% before offering it with a 30% discount for 6 bottles?

The Moet is on 'sale' at least :-| - plus 10% off for 6. Dan's $44.95 in any 6.

Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label at BWS was $59 when I checked?

Has anyone tried the Louis Roederer Carte Blanche demi-sec and can offer an opinion?

FWIW Mrs V and I have no particular expertise when it comes to champagnes but, having tried many, Louis Roederer is our favourite brand by far. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with the demi-sec. Generally demi-secs can be too sweet for our taste but we didn't find the LR excessively sweet at all. Still, for our tastes the Brut Premier is preferable.

Thanks for your thoughts. May I ask where you obtained a bottle? I've been trying but all the retailers I've asked, and the distributor, all say they'll find out and then never get back to me.

Have no idea where you could buy the demi-sec in Oz. We visited Reims / Epernay in the Champagne district of France earlier this year and tried the LR demi-sec at a well known wine place called "AU 36" at Hautvillers which is not far from Epernay. Unfortunately the LR cellars are not open for tours - which was a disappointment for us. We got our last order of the Brut Premier from Nicks Wine Merchants but they don't list the demi-sec on their website.

You may have to pencil in a trip to France !! ;)

Now there's a perfectly acceptable reason to continue the chase. :p

What location are you searching? I've checked every state on the drop down box on this site - and all show the $59 price.
Beer and Cider Specials | BWS Clicquot Brut Yellow Label 750mL
Try searching Specials, perhaps?

Edit: Your picture doesn't look the same as the BWS site. Is it from another outlet?

Ah ha. That's the problem. When I went to 'Shop Online' it automatically took me via woolworths.com.au.

Thanks.

Now, can I stack my discounts? :)

Is it really necessary to pay somewhere north of $40-50 to get a champagne worth drinking? I say champagne as I am referring to the French muck. ;)
