Advice on champagne

I've seen the 2008 described as a great vintage too, but almost all the ratings of top champage from that decade have the 2002s up the top. Maybe that's just a bit of extra age on those bottles?

Not much 2008 has even been released yet. No Dom, LGD, CdC, Salon, Krug etc.

I bought up on 2002 and will do the same on 2008. Not really purchased much vintage champagne in between (odd bottle here and there). Already have a few bottles of the 2008 Pol Roger blanc de blanc tucked away.

I've got some vouchers I can stack and can either get
Veuve @ $39.20 6 pack
Moet @ $29.20 6 pack
Mumm @ $25.20 6 pack

Is Mumm any good? I have tried Moetand Veuve, but if Mumm is just as good, that price is appealing!

I think the prices you've listed are good. Around what I would normally pay for these items. But I think you could get them cheaper. Veuve being probably closer to $35.

I think that the prices you listed also are the rankings I'd give for these items. Mumm is good, but certainly not in the Veuve league.

Yes wait for great deals and stack the deals.

Small shop on AMEX or heavily discounted on Cellarmasters are good opportunities. You just need to be patient and wait. Good deals are common, great deals are rarer.

From memory I got Mumm for just over $21 during AMEX small shop in Nov 2016.

Whilst Veuve for $35 happens every now and then it isn't particularly regular or predictable. (So stock up when it does).

The prices you have listed are quite good unfunkable.

Dan's have Taittinger NV for $46.60, down to $40.54 by my calculations of the "usuals" (better if you have any 10%-ers)...

Good price.

Why not all three?

But seriously, for me, the Mumm at ~$25 and Moet <$30 are definite buys for me. <$40 for Veuve is good and I would buy if I had a reason to, but as others have said we have been spoilt with some great deals, so it can be had for $35 occasionally.

I would take the Mumm if I could only choose 1, but we did drink a lot of Moet over Xmas.

The case of 6 ended up being 34.99ea bottle with cash rewards..quite happy with it. I had a $25 voucher i stacked. Its the only thing the wife will drink.

Bollinger LGA 2005 $141 at The Den after discounts.

Decent price for fantastic drop and now that EY F don't serve it anymore I'm tempted to get some.

Anyone interested to split a case?
