Advice on champagne

No need to thank me - thank our corp giants for their unbridled competition - my calcs not quite correct - I bought a doz which I think cost me $34.87ea - still a great price for Mumm.

Wish cards, start here & click and collect have me going out to see my Mumm today... all six of them...! :D

Edit: good stock at my local tempted to grab another box ;)

So I was wandering the aisles of Dan's yesterday and noticed Taittinger NV gift pack with 2 x glasses included - packaging just spectacular - $59.99. Cruiserette instructed me to buy 12 of same for those last minute bday gifts you require throughout year. So I go online last night to confirm but they are not there - I called Dan's in Parkdale today and they are XMAS item and they only have 5 in store but they would ring around other stores to get me 12 - but then I can't use SH.

But whilst online I did notice this item:

And stand alone Lanson black label:

Now whilst I am not a great fan of Lanson this does look a great deal - with WISH/SH sub #33.00. Will run this past Cruiserette tonight and see just which decision I should make.
Actually secured 8 of these gift packs today from DM's Essendon Fields - NFI how they calculated the price but I paid $35.09ea - shelf price for 6 Lanson showing $41.70ea.

WOW - $35.80 after WISH/SH - thats a seriously good price - godd spotto BC.

Penegal? I am currently in NKG - can you go buy me a doz - i'll fix you up when I get back - honest I will! :D

Surprised that you haven't taught Cruiserette to operate WISH/SH when you're away? :p :p

It would all be gone by the time you got back... ;)

Tempted..... And still have plenty of wish cards to burn

haha, I am not in Melbourne until late Friday or early Saturday :p

How long is the sale?

Can possibly do a click-and-collect over the weekend.

i know it's the champagne thread but... any recc's for NZ Sav Blancs? Around $30/bottle? Mum got Mumm a few days back now the old man's birthday so need to pick up something from our great friend Dan!

Can't go past Cloudy Bay but I prefer Highfield Estate. Dog Point if you want something slightly cheaper

Cloudy Bay, Craggy Range Te Muna Rd. Cloudy Bay the pick of those two.
To be honest $30 is near the top of the price point of what's widely available here commercially in NZ Sav Blanc.
For a birthday I would pony up and get a bottle of Cloudy Bay Te Koko (~$45-$50). Superb wine, once tasted never forgotten. I don't think DM's stock it but is available at Vintage Cellars.

Agree Te Koko is a cracker but Hummel may need to be aware that it is an oaked Fume Blanc style, excellent with food; maybe less suited to an aperitif.
