Advice on champagne

I see $42.75 on Dan's site.

$36.90 is the price for the Lanson Black Label & 2 Glass Gift pack. See it here - No Search Results |

You're all too rich for my pocket. I don't mind spending on Single Malt, but this sort of money for bubbly stuff that slides down so easily and is quickly finished is not money well spent for me. ;) ....hick

Edit......funny name on the link, but it does work.

I think you'll find that obtaining any of the Lanson gift packs will be quite difficult as they are out of stock almost everywhere.

If you login to site it will indicate where it will be available relative to your location. In my case the site tells me that 2 suburban stores within cooee will have it in 2hrs.

For some reason that doesn't seem to work for my location. But I already managed to order a couple the other day.

YES - very ordinary - IMHO of course - YMMV as we all have different tastes. This is one of Dan's home brands and always in stock - best advice I would give is just try a bottle.

IMHO I think it is actually rather decent for the price albeit slightly one-dimensional. It's made by GH Martel (a very good maison - their own stuff is amazing) exclusively for Dan's. Would drink this over some of the other entry level drops like Piper or Lanson.

At least we are consistent Keith - seems what you like I don't - lucky huh - ensures we won't come to fisticuffs over a bottle of champers and if that is the case seems I won't experience a thrashing at your hands - good thing huh?

Would be well towards the bottom of the list of drinkable cheapies for me, so you are welcome to my share.

It was being poured at the State Theatre (Melbourne Arts Centre) for a while. Not sure if it is still. Vastly over-priced there, in my view but they did appear to sell a bit, so obviously others don't agree with my assessment.

Agree with the suggestion to try a bottle. If you like it, then it IS good value.

First Choice have Mumm on special:

Dan's on site at moment:

But wait an hour and they will update site to reflect cheaper price - once its updated you can then get 11% off with WISH/SH which would make it about $34.50 IMCAC - looks really good value at that price.

EDit: Indeed Dan's web site now updated to $38.85 - go for it kids!

I must admit I've developed a taste for Mumm NV after last Christmas with the in-laws. The OH loves the stuff. I didn't really rate it before but it was Christmas and it was there.....
