Advice on champagne

Mate, are you kidding?! IMHO, this is the best NV, hands down. Generally regarded as the Rolls Royce of NVs. See this: Advanced search at Champagne Gallery

That is a very good price; I'd grab some.
It is the champagne that LAN serves in its lounges and in J. No wonder I like LAN and passing through SCL so much ;)

Yes John, I have read quite a few write-ups on the Louis Roederer Brut Premier, however my question was has anyone tried it, and any recommendations....? I assume you have tried it...? hence your opinion is of value to me, I'd say from your post that you agree 100% with the comments and reviews then...? It's certainly priced well if it's as good as you say it is...

I've certainly tried it and I've just ordered 6 as I'm down to my last one ;).

has anyone tried the Louis Roederer Brut Premier (currently at $56.90/per 6 with free delivery)...? any recommendations from the wealth of knowledge within this thread... ;)

If you haven't tried it its certainly worth giving a go. Actually been a long while since I last had any and can't really recall tasting notes off the top of my head. Price is pretty sharp and I don't think you'd be disappointed. Its a quality wine that delivers.

Mate, are you kidding?! Have you not tried or heard of Krug? :)

I have indeed :).

Maybe I should have said best NV IMHO at the general price-point of the usual suspects (Moet, Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Billecart-Salmon, Bollinger etc.), but I thought it was implicit from shintaro10's question and the general run of the conversation on the thread. Krug 'multi vintage' as they call it (aka NV, sort of) is well above that price-point.

Pass.... others much better and life is too short to drink cough wine..

If Mr Groundwater really had to toss up between Veuve and Moet, I'm not sure he was the best person for EK to give that J ticket to...
While I realise this was intended as a snide commentary on Ben's tastes, I think he's actually exactly the right person for EK to have given the ticket to. They wouldn't have got such a effusive commentary on the benefits of J over Y that may just entice some more people to try it from most of the entitled bunch on this site for a start:D! While that's intended as a slightly tongue in cheek comment I do think we are as a group slightly jaded as to what business offers compared to the "majority".

Oh absolutely. It was a great marketing play from EK.

I was also relieved to note later in the article that he did select the Veuve so all is right with the world.

Krug is multi - Vintage ! Sorry I am still new to this thread had no idea I guess it's pricy too.

The Krug was $179 less Starthere and 5% Woolies gift cards the last time I bought from DM so just over $160 in a deal.
Moët is much more reasonably priced.

No worries. It is certainly a tad differently priced from the pack: about $270 . Only shintaro10x can afford to gargle it daily ;):p:mrgreen:.
