Advice on champagne

Less CR and Wish would be a great deal - but alas I have >100 botts NV of various breeds I am going to obliterate before going back in again.
 
Now I'm wishing I had a bottle in the fridge for tonight...oh actually, I think there's a sneaky Taittinger in there somewhere.
 
I was actually impressed with the Lanson Gold Label. They were serving that in GlobalFirst last year. Not an expensive champagne, but a nice surprise given UA's beverage list.

Totally agree, I can take or leave the black, but I really like the gold label. And it's not that much more expensivo
 
I know very little about Champagne, generally only drink it a couple of times a year, yes I know I'm a heathen but I was hoping for some advice. I saw some 2005 Lanson Gold for $45 at BWS, is this a good buy & more importantly is it any good?
