Not quite the 21 or 25 year old. I have tasted the 21 at a whisky bar in Hong Kong a few years ago and recall not being overwhelmed by it. Twas certainly ok, but I was expecting something more special. I could not see the 25yo on eBay under teh current eBay Plus discount offer, but the 21yo come out at just under $120 on that deal.

Bought Glenfarclas 17 back in 2017 and don't really think much of it.
Even though all are discounted I have not pulled the trigger on any other Glenfarclas.

I thought there was Wild Turkey Master's Keep Decades at DanMurphy's@EBay this arvo. Now when I wanted to buy it's not there anymore.

Love Glenfarclas! Finally was privileged to visit the distillery last year.

The 25 is sometimes on sale through Nicks. I think the 21 yo to my palate is the best value for money.

But it is not a whisky! Is there an AFF rum thread?

Given the lack of interest on this thread until recently, perhaps this thread should include all spirits rather than just whisky? Better to have one active thread than five dead ones.

In general I found there are not many amazing deals for whisky in Australia, although you can take advantage of whiskylist to find the cheapest price, then price match with a merchant for free shipping.

Canadian Club Whisky on Boozebud for $26 per bottle, I know Canadian Club isn't exactly a top shelf whisky, but not often can you buy a bottle for alcohol tax + GST in Australia!

Ordered another bottle of The Gospel, honestly do yourself a favour and give it a try, I’m going to make a big call and say one of Australia’s best.

Also looks hot on the bar cart unlike all the tacky overseas bottles!

I buy it direct but I know some people love their Coles and Woolies chain stores :)

I enjoy the 21, though the Glendronach 18 is pretty good value too (if you can find the 2019 bottling, given the arbitrage opportunity around the mothballing of the distillery and minimum barrel age requirements).

I have quoted this post in the whisky thread as the original location wasn't really meant for discussion, but referrals.
By the way, the referral gift that shipped last month was 50ml miniture bottle of Tobermory 10yo.
Indeed, received two of them and tried one, quite lovely.
And last month's Glen Grant is amazing, living up to the awards that it has earned.
I ended up skipping last month, but plan to take up both the anCnoc and Starward if I can this month. From what I read, I need to log on around midnight for the best chance of getting the add-in, does this line up with others experiences?

I have missed out on a double-up in the past (once) when delaying my decision until Sunday afternoon. And last month I doubled-up on the Glen Grant fairly quickly after receiving the email on the first Friday of the month. When it arrived, I was sent 1 x 700ml and 1 x 1l bottles of the Glen Grant, so I can only assume they ran low in the 700ml stock. I was not complaining :).

I am considering adding-in The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated this month.

I bought the Tobermory 12yo when it was Whisky of the Month (August 2019 I think), which came with a complementary Tobemory mug, which will be used to sample the 10yo referral gift. The 12yo was certainly enjoyed, so hoping the 10yo will be good too.

Did all The Whisky Club members manage to get the ad-ins they wanted? My opt-in for The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated seems to have gone through ok (not waitlisted).

And on a different note, I saw Cashrewards are offering 25% cashback on certain items from BWS (yesterday and today only). The Talisker Storm is one of the items in the list. It was already well priced at $75 (showing as $22 discount). When I went to on-line checkout there was a further $10 discount showing - no idea what that was for, but I am not complaining. So paid $65 with Wish Card, so only cost $61.75, and if I get the 25% cashback, that represents a purchase cost of $45.50 plus some number of QFF points via Everyday Rewards. Not bad value for a nice whisky.

For those following along at home, here is the cashrewards offer - only valid 3rd and 4th September (yesterday and today):

Edit: Looks like Cashrewards are having a conniption - perhaps too much interest in the 25% cash back! I hope mine goes through ok, but even without the cashback, $65 is still as good price for Talisker Storm.

This was posted in another thread
Just read on ozb that they've stopped cashrewards and bws completely temporarily due to some technical issues
So better to wait if you want the cash back

And an interesting deal for those who like their whisky smokey:

It's An Oa plus some "stuff". You are paying more for the other stuff.
