Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

The AC/Aeroplan website is so slow and jumpy it won't be usable for a day or so once the Nth Americans get on.

Haha I was the same. I just checked and panicked, thought I missed out or something
Have you been able to purchase points? We went on the site to purchase with our cc but received a reply email saying the transaction could not be completed. The transaction is shown on our cc as pending. Contacted our bank who confirmed that it had not been blocked by them and will proceed as normal.
Next recourse would be to contact Aeroplan (Canada time). Reluctant to do this given likely to be a bun fight for refund etc.

I purchased about 230,000 points this morning, only drama I had was ANZ CC security stepped in and blocked the transaction , requiring a Txt message to be replied to and re-doing the transaction. Points are now ready and waiting for booking window to open for Sept 2025 SQ flights for 2 passengers ADL to Northern Europe for a Viking ocean cruise. I'll then redeem Avios on QR Privilege Club for the return flights on Q-suites.

Great value purchase this time, previous best bonus I've received was 100%.

I've received similar on today's and previous bookings, but never had a problem.

You will be notified when the Aeroplan points have been credited to your account. During this period, your credit card issuer may place a hold on your credit card for 5 to 7 business days.

Welcome to AFF. I haven't tried yet. I recall those sorts of problems have been encountered before. Can't recall details though, sorry.

If the charge is pending, no point calling Aeroplan. The pending charge will either process, meaning you've got your points, or drop off automatically after a few days of you don't.

Have you recently opened your account? You may not be able to buy in that case.

BNE to SIN what not the problem it was SIN onwards to Europe and US. LIkewise in the opposite direction, Europe to SIN was not existent in May or June apart from some days on Air India.
I have had a look and had similar issue. Maybe they are releasing that to their own kris flyers members only and tbh would rather use the Qsuites to Europe.

Just got the 180k,USA and Canda return to AUS in sept 2025. Points posted immediately and no issue with my card. I used ubank debit card tho, better rate and did not want to get dinked with the 3% cc fees

Took a few tries (like 10, over 2 devices) to get through to points .com, then straightforward. Only bought enough for the 85% bonus. Also discovered that my previous remaining stash was about to expire - so they are now OK again.

Will likely end up buying a small amount (135,000 for $2100 CAD) which should be able to get me anywhere from Australia in business class. Certainly a lot cheaper than booking a one-way ticket out of Australia last minute.

For those wondering, yes Air Canada has quite a few sweet spots and sometimes it is the only way to get to Europe (see my earlier posts on this thread) as they have Etihad, Emirates, Oman and Singapore as as a partners.

Etihad has pretty much pulled its premium cabin availability and Oman looks to have done likewise unfortunately

How long does the points take to come through?

My transaction was successful and on the points purchase page it showed the amount in my account, but kn the AC lage it still showed it without.

Edit: NVM it just took the system half an hour to have it shown up.

Points purchased and flights booked on SQ now.

I got an e-mail straight away saying success and summary of the transaction, then checked the webpage and were in the account. Hopefully yours will be there soon. I did mine at about 5am Eastern Canadian time.

Cheers, it took about half an hour to show up on the main page but its there now.

SQ J flights booked now. $900 AUD per pax to SIN on travel we were already going to do to Singapore. Now to book that EK F back on QFF.

I used a 28 Degree card. Interestingly, I got the 'transaction success' screen before I got the text from Latitude where I had to reply yes or no to the transaction. Only by a second, but a few more seconds until I replied.

That has always been my experience with 28 degrees. I get a text message after the transaction has been completed asking me to respond with a Y or N.

That's different to my other cards where it sends me a code to enter before the payment is processed.
