It will be in the US. We have previously used a data centre in Sydney, but the sad reality is that it's difficult to justify given the cost/performance ratio of Australian-based servers vs. those in the US

Thanks for the hard work you have been doing. Good luck in choosing a new data centre. I followed the link in your messages about the outage and read the posts from those others whose severs were also down. Pretty amazingly bad communications from the data centre. Most users had some sympathy at the start but the continuing failure to respond and provide updates was almost a classic case of how to make a bad situation worse. I can see why you have decided to opt for a change.

1) Will you get service credits/refunds from the outages caused by incumbent? I hope you do.
2) Would there be major costs involved in changing to new host?

100% agree most of the stuff I host is in the US, it's just cheeper. No pressure but are you willing to say who the new company will be, always looking for suggestions and now know of one more to avoid

From what others are discussing online, there'll likely be a credit/refund equivalent to one month's service.

Try ServerIntellect, Dreamhost or Siteground and maybe consider distributed cloud servers such as Azure.

One word... Cost.

Those platforms are very expensive compared to smaller providers.

I suppose it depends on needs really. Also very much a case of you get what you pay for, as has played out here.
