As I live an hour south of Perth one would think it is a given for me.... BUT I am also one of the "lucky" ones that works every single weekend, all year round. Unfortunately I am just coming back from holidays and will probably not be able to get any time off and as I do afternoons that weekend I cant join in later on either. I might be able to meet up on the Friday for whatever you have planned, even if its just for some drinks, but I wont know until the week before more or less. Would be great to meet other AFF members.

If you can come along to even just one event, that'd be great!

I'll be Silver for now, too far in advance to really say if I can make it or not. Highly dependent on uni exam timetable (I think I finish exams the week before the do) which is up in the air until a month before it's scheduled to occur. Also my piggy bank, I think he's shivering in the corner scared he'll be turned into bacon or something.

We have booked accommodation at the Perth Hilton; flash sale makes it a very attractive price for those still in need of lodgings.

Certainly some excellent prices there, even for those who don't have status and would usually look at the open market if you can lock yourself in for the weekend.

I just had a look at the flash sale and didn't find it too flash.
The room I booked a few months ago for $203 is now $275 using the same rate category.

Well it didn't seem to include the lower categories so we've gone higher for less than what we had before,

GEM56 & I are now Platinum.:D

May I presume the festivities will be centred around the Hilton?

Fantastic! My list now has 22* Platinums :D

Activities are still sitting in the TBC as far as I'm aware, we should have an interim schedule appear very shortly. :)

*Might be more/might be less, have to have another trawl through the thread to make sure I haven't missed anyone when I have a spare moment.

I did notice that if I untick AAA and Govt Rate then 40% off rooms show up.
Also noticed that the rate is non refundable so buyer beware.

Non refundable but we also have flights so not a big deal for us. I figure most of the action will be centred round the Hilton and not likely to get much cheaper than that.

Generally speaking (and judging from past gatherings), most people would be staying at the Hilton, so you can't go wrong if you stay there too (or very near-by). I think the flash sale is still on but it's ending soon. If it's not your cup of tea, there are alternatives very close by as well. e.g. Citadines St Georges Terrace (around the corner from the Hilton, in the same block) has studio apartments starting from $140 per night with free cancellation (cheaper for members).

Hilton is fine for us.

If I come I'll stay at the Hyatt, which is literally at the opposite end of "town". But Perth is quite good. The buses up and down St Georges Terrace and Adelaide Terrace are free (within the terraces) and regular. Very easy to get around. It is also an easy walk as long as it's not too hot.

Just changed my hotel from the Citadines to Hilton, $375 for two nights in a regular guest room but with no HHonours benefits. There is also a twin room only for $354 (2 nights) available if anyones interested, again, no HHonours benefits apply but rate is flexible up until one week prior.

This is Perth. The opposite end of town is not all that far away :!:
