I had a three night booking at the Hyatt for that weekend with a DSU applied. However, since I will be in the UK the week before I had to draw the line and, so won't be there. However, I will be in Perth in July, Hyatt booked, DSU re-applied...

Hyatt Diamond Suite Upgrade Award.

As the name suggests it is a confirmed upgrade to a suite at the time of booking on paid bookings (subject to availability, etc). Hyatt Diamond members receive 4 per year.

In some hotels they are worth their weight in gold as you can book the cheapest room and be confirmed into a suite. In the case of the Hyatt Regency Perth a base room is 33sqm. The smallest suite is 70sqm, so quite a bit bigger.

Trying to plan and think best I arrive on a Thursday night and depart on the Sunday night red-eye straight to work on Monday morning.

Looks nice. I have played Joondalup, Vines and Kennedy Bay. More than likely have a game on the Friday morning somewhere I have not played before.

Perth has plenty of hotel space at the moment and a couple of new ones will be operating by November. The new one at Crown Burswood should have reviews by then.

Remember that scene from Up in the Air when George and the lady are comparing cards in the Holiday Inn bar. This weekend brings that to mind. On steroi_s. Big swinging shiny cards.

Organisers could do worse than looking at Long Chim and Petition Kitchen at the Como. Both are outstanding. John Lethlean reviewed Odyssea at City Beach last week in the Oz and it seems comfortably mid market. The Como is a great place to stay. If you are a competitive little soul (and I reckon there's a few of you on this site) you could do worse than stay here and put those Parmelia people firmly in their place. Nicely of course.

I'm in Darwin tonight. Just been down to the waterfront for a swim after work. Very impressed by what's been done down there. There's a venue for future years.
