AFF Gathering #10 in PER on 11 - 13 November 2016

I'm probably bronze now. I had a flight booked to Australia that would have worked, but have now cancelled it.

Will keep this in mind and see how my plans work out (may rebook it if Qatar has sales ex Europe for £1500 in J again)

When would be the closing date for registration/payments? My plans are extremely fluid at the moment - at this stage, I have no idea what I'll be doing or where I will be from around mid-Oct.

This is starting to get too difficult for me to plan. Too many other things happening at that time.

If I do attend it will be last minute decision if Qantas brings out some last minute specials and reasonable hotel prices become available in the overpriced hotel city.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Tickets and Registration will remain open until all available spaces have been sold or until a week prior to the event when the final lists will be sent through to venues (whichever comes first). Any additional spots after these times will be at the discretion of the operator or venue.

I'm going to try and book a business trip to see client in the days prior to the gathering, so that will warm up the local AFF'ers. I'll be waving on the Friday afternoon as I leave (and the attendees are arriving).

That seems a bit pointless QF WP. If you aren't coming to the do, why bother choosing the same week?

Or are you going to miss your Friday flight and have to book the Sunday night one because it's the "next available".

Not pointless at all. My next trip to PER is scheduled for November. At least I'd get to see some of the attendees and warn the Hilton staff of the hordes about to descent :D

No, I wouldn't miss my flights. My parental and husband duties supercede my desire to be at the AFF Gathering. Maybe next year when it's closer...

Hi Everyone,

I have made a very fundamental error in regards to the Return ferry from Rottnest on Saturday. This Ferry departs from Rottnest at 1625 and travels to B Shed at Fremantle (Not Barrack Street). I have organised a coach (at no additional cost to members) to take us back to the city, the difference being that we will arrive back at our Hotels at approximately 1730 (30mins after the originally scheduled time). I do realise now why I was quoted for coach transfers during my initial enquiry

My sincerest apologies,
Josh.

Note: The Ferry to Rottnest still departs from Barrack Street at 08:30am

To be honest, while the ferry from Perth has some value, with commentary for the interesting bits and hopefully a nice warm morning to relax in, the return trip after Freo is rather long, quiet, boring, and somewhat depressing, as most pax have already used up their energy. Getting off the ferry at Freo is not a bad thing at all. I would personally consider this as a free upgrade.

Vacation time approved. RSVP'd for welcome drinks. Paid up for Rottnest tour. Parmelia Hilton booked for 11-13 November 2016. Departing the 13th on QF 648 at 11:40PM to MEL (thence onwards to LAX in QF F and finally AUS). Still firming up the arrival flight as it might change, depending on schedule. I can officially commit as Platinum.

Life is good :).

Waiting for my boss to notice that I come back from 7 weeks holiday on the Monday 7th, then have the following Friday 11th off. I figure a 4 day week is the way to settle back in......

I have now confirmed our presence at all the venues on the Sunday Bus Tour and I'm happy to advise that tickets for said tour are now available for purchase at: https://www.trybooking.com/LPLE :p There are quite a few full and half day options to choose from depending on your preference and budget so book away! :p

I am heading to SYD at 2305 on QF568 so I reckon there will be plenty of time for a few bevvies in the lounge.

Thanks for the efforts so far jsd and others. Much appreciated, and paid up for all 'open' events.

I did notice that though I filled in the activities spreadsheet, along with arrival and departure times/dates, there appears no way I can see what events I have actually indicated I will attend (while I'm pretty sure I recall for now, at my age the memory is sometimes flakey :) ). Is there something obvious I am missing or is this info indeed 'hidden' for the time being?

Cheers.

Post 3 in the thread will contain all the information on who is doing what. I am aiming to have it updated on a weekly basis with any new information I am receiving.

Each attendee will also get a copy of what they are booked in for on Friday the 11th of November along with some other goodies. :)
