Hi all, I haven't contributed here due to pre-arranged commitments Friday and Saturday that I thought would take up the whole weekend. I have a meeting finishing in the CBD approx 2pm on Friday and may be able to pop my head into Burra (if anyone is there very early) or the Hilton Exec Lounge for a coffee. Please PM if so.

By all means join us at Burra, but I doubt anyone will be there before 6.30.

I'm hoping to check into the Hilton around 2.30pm and then have a couple of chores and I'll be around

Gah. I have just been informed that as Haigh's are doing renovations they won't be able to do the factory tour.

We will still be stopping there but the shop is about all there is.

I was really looking forward to this part of the tour. I am sorry that we won't get to do it.

Estimating our arrival at the Hilton at around 3pm also. Hubby may head to the lounge, while I go get my nails done.

Oh wow. Such late notice too! Oh well, the shop is still wonderful. Maybe I might just pop in tomorrow. Their bullets, choc almonds, frogs.......

I’ve just realised how many fantastic AFF’ers I’m about to meet for the very first time. And of course, the golden oldies.

It’s ok. The chocolate will still be there. Lots of it. I agree the lack of notice sucks. But there’s always chocolate. I’d make a collective point of disappointment and maybe there might be freebies. Well, there is always freebies anyway. Maybe I’ll pop in tomorrow and check what’s up!

I have asked that 'disappointment compensation' be provided!

Bus. Airport express. I saw it so many times today. Double decker like a London bus. I have no idea where in the city it stops. I’ve had too many sparking wines tonight to check.
But don't just wait for the double decker as it alternates with the J1. If jumping on the single deck bus just make sure it's going to the city and not Glenelg.
About $5 for the bus if you don't have a Metro Card, about $20 by cab.

There are a few buses that will do the trick: https://adelaidemetro.com.au/conten...J1-J1X-J2-N1-163_ttable_routemap_14-10-18.pdf

During busy road periods, they all take about the same time.

A metro ticket (from bus driver?) will cost $5.50 one way.; $3.70 for the same trip on a Metrocard

There's supposedly a metrocard vending machine at Airport bus stop 10. Metyrocards cost from $5 in $5 increments - no charge for the card, the $$ can all be applied to fares. So if doing just the one trip then a $5 card to save 50cents (leaving $1.30 credit) or return then $10 on card to save $1 (leaving $3.40 credit).
