Another definite for the golf.I will give any hacker a run for their money so dont feel you will be embarrassed.

Keep the responses coming people.

One recent submission is rather comical w.r.t. their responses to "Any children under 13 years coming" and "Special Dietary Requirements"... :D

Have signed myself and +1 up to the following:
- Friday Pre-Dinner Drinks
- Friday Dinner
- Saturday Pre-Dinner Drinks
- Saturday Dinner
- Sunday Lunch

We don't think we can make the wake up call for either Day activity.:oops::lol: Happy to be led astray for unofficial post dinner drinks also. :D

Am signed up for..:
  • Friday pre-drinks
  • Saturday pre-drinks
  • Saturday dinner
  • Sunday lunch
Not a massive fan of Japanese food, hence skipping Friday dinner ... also not much of one for morning starts on holidays, so no day activities for me either. I plan on entertaining my liver in various establishments in the Valley over the weekend should anyone want to do the same.. :D

anat0l, will you be working out who is on what flight for lounging purposes? Or should we post in this thread?

Well the reason for the sign up form was so that I will generate the lists of who is coming and who isn't, plus also generate the flight list. It seemed easier than tracking posts through the thread.

Courtesy of todays sales (thanks DJ and QF :) ), flights are booked.

Hmm, now for a hotel - Hilton or Holiday Inn, hmm....

The Mirimar Cruise interest looks starkingly bare. Did we make a mistake here? Or do others have a better idea for a Saturday Day Activity? We have been trying to think cruise here for a long time. Unfortunately, many of the options for a cruise are either prohibitively expensive or are scheduled for the wrong day.

So far the maximum numbers that I need to bring to the restaurants is around 13-16, which is quite some bit off the 20-25 some of us were forecasting.

There aren't enough flights in the sign-up info to start a good table.

Please, if you are participating in this do, sign up using the sign-up form (here). This includes those who have simply put info on the thread (I have highlighted these people in red).

For those of you who need to update information (e.g. add flight/hotel data), please use the form (just fill it out again). We will take your latest submission as the correct information. The form takes less than 2 minutes to fill in - that's shorter than booking an air ticket!

The table was still in my edit time window, so it has been updated, and you've been granted a justified exemption from using the form :)

I take it you're coming by yourself?

Yep, it's a solo mission this time.

Put me down as a maybe, I'd love to come along for the dinner on Saturday night and the golf game on Sunday. Prob fly up on the Saturday as things are happening on the job front which may make Friday evening flights a little more difficult.

It's also a great excuse to visit a friend of mine living in OOL.

(I'll fill in the form when things become more concrete)

I have updated the form.

Please note that drron has also mentioned in post #241 that he is a definite for golf and if harvyk also comes along then we have 6 interested for golf.

Flight Table

Flight table is now available  here (click me).

This, as well as the attendance numbers, will be added to the Do sticky as soon as I can organise it.

I'm trying something different and using ba97 for the flight data. For those of you unfamiliar with ba97, the date/time in the relevant column is the departure time. You can calculate the arrival time mentally:
  • MEL-BNE: add 1h 5min to published departure time
  • SYD-BNE: add 30min
  • BNE-MEL: add 3h 10min
  • BNE-SYD: add 2h 35min
Note that actual flying times are 1 hr more (inbound to BNE) or 1 hr less (outbound from BNE) than the mental guides given above due to the daylight savings difference between the Southern and Sunshine states.

To the organizing committee,
Brisbane Golf Club as agreed to allow the AFF Golf players access to the course as Unaccompanied players. I have sent details to JohnK.

Brisbane Golf Club is a private members course and upholds certain dress standards. (Nothing different to most courses). John or I will send to every player a copy of this Standard.

I wish I was going to be here with you for these few days, but life is tough and I am going to Townsville for a 4 day Golf tournament. Well thats what Mrs max thinks...lol.
Regards
Peter aka Max_1

Thanks for your assistance Peter.

We can cover most details later but the most important things are

We have 2 tee-offs for 7:05am and 7:12am which is enough for 8 players.

The unaccompanied member guest rate is $70 per player and a cart costs $38 so that makes it $89 per player to play what I believe is a very good golf course. Can't remember what we paid to play Jindalee but Brisbane Golf Club will be much better.

Does anyone who has expressed interest to play have any questions or second thoughts? It would be desirable to have an even number of players to split the cart costs and if we have 6 interested then we can have a group of 4 and a group of 2
