Count me in for Sat evening Dinner, Sunday Golf and Breakky Ck. :D

Sounds like a good plan! Looking forward to it.
Did I say you were not going to be disappointed?

Count me in for Sat evening Dinner, Sunday Golf and Breakky Ck. :D
Are you hiring a car? ;)

Perhaps I will hire a car from Avis from BNE downtown at ~4:00pm on Saturday and return it to the airport on Sunday afternoon after Breakfast Creek. The 1,000 VS miles will come in very handy as well.

I might drive on the Sunday if you’re looking for a lift anywhere :p
Thanks Sam but that would be too much hassle.

See above post. I would need a lift to Golf from Spring Hill to Yerongpilly then back to Spring Hill to drop off golf clubs then Breakfast Creek then airport and then back to Spring Hill. Best if I just hire a car on Saturday and drop off at airport on Sunday plus I may also play golf somewhere on Saturday as well.

Avis with 1000 VS miles? ;)

For all of you driving at any time during this Do, please think about how much you are drinking, even if your last drink was the night before.

I know - corny community announcement, but I wouldn't post this if I didn't think it inappropriate...

Dont leave it at Roma St and tell Avis its at Central like some cretin did recently for a Avis Falcon, I noticed it and recognised it was an Avis car so I called them to say it had a lot of parking tickets on it ! They were most happy to hear from me.

Do you have room for 2 pax?;) As we are staying at the Hilton, how do we get to Bfast creek? Cab is the easiest? I will give the golf a miss....the last time I played, I hit the ball minus 50 metres:oops:

PS: we will be attending everything bar the golf and koala cruise....not sure I need to see / cuddle a koala:p

I might not be attending the golf so could do a Hilton pickup on the last day. Have a large 4WD.

And anat0l, I'd be using the car as my excuse not to drink/spend so much on a day or night.

Seems to run at the same time as a dinner, rather than the Koala thing?

That was my "gripe" on that option.

I was trying to find a good day trip to St Helena as I think it would have been interesting (went there when I was a primary school kid). Problems were timing (date and time) plus having to get to Manly.

If you don't have a large amount of luggage, bus route 300 has its first stop in Kingsford Smith Drive within easy walking distance of the Breakfast Creek Hotel.
In the city, you'd catch it from in front of Ted's Camera House, 150 Adelaide Street. From the Hilton, exiting onto Elizabeth Street, turn left and go to the intersection of Elizabeth and Edward Streets. Turn left onto Edward Street and head toward the Queen Street Mall. Stay on Edward and go past the mall to the intersection of Edward and Adelaide Streets. Go across Adelaide Street, turn left at the 7-11 and then walk to the bus stop in front of Ted's Camera House.

As for my own attendance at the meet, it has to be downgraded to Bronze.
Needing to deal with $400 worth of expenses on my 3 computer systems before Christmas has put paid to me being able to attend. :(

Surely you could come for a drink though, or perhaps the closing drinks in the QP on the Sunday, that should be free ;)

To the organisers.

This sounds like a great plan. Well done from me.

I can now confirm that I will be attending, though I'm not sure yet if that is a yes for one or two :!:
Now confirming that Sue and I will both be attending.

I'll notify specifics in the next few days.

I am always wary of people saying 'trust us'.
Only if they ask for money up front. ;)

Now for the big decisions. Which hotel....hmm...
I hear the Mill has good rooms and friendly service at an affordable price. ;)

Dont leave it at Roma St and tell Avis its at Central like some cretin did recently for a Avis Falcon, I noticed it and recognised it was an Avis car so I called them to say it had a lot of parking tickets on it ! They were most happy to hear from me.
It will be parked in the basement car park at the Mill.

At least you hit the ball. Some people miss the golf ball alltogether. :p

The easiest way I know to get to Breakfast Creek is to get the train to Bowen Hills and then it is ~10-15 minute walk from there.

I have not booked the car yet but more than likely I will be hiring a car for golf on Sunday at Yerongpilly and then it will be back to the Mill to drop off golf clubs before heading out to Breakfast Creek and then dropping the car off at the airport.

If the timing suits you can meet me at the Mill and I could take you to Breakfast Creek for lunch and then the airport.
