AFF Gathering #9 at CNS on 16 - 18 October

Looks like there are 2 AFF'ers on the 6th floor already, so I've opted for there as well.

At Doubletree:
Level 6 is the "HHonors Floor". General suggestion is to stay there as those rooms all have amenities and newspapers by default. Rooms on other floors do not automatically have amenities, the staff need to remember to do it.

I've picked level 7 for now (it tried to give me a double rather than the king booked) but will see what eventuates.

I'm currently in 3D. New people have shown up in 3 D&F since yesterday - perhaps SMJ's upgrades came through?

Also on the return flight (QF655), I've changed from Row 13 to 5C. I can see 4 BC taken as well as 4DEF, 5DEF (plus some in Row 6); so I'm presuming the party on that flight will be in those Rows.

Not sure - there were only 2 single bed (King) rooms when I checked (02 & 03 IIRC) and I chose one of them.

I will be in Cairns tomorrow for a tax conference (at the DT) and am also staying there.

I also chose Level 7 this morning but will see what happens.

Am flying up on Friday morning from Townsville on my first flight as an AA plat, all thanks to the wealth of knowledge gained from this forum.

01 cops the afternoon sun so can get a bit uncomfortable, but still fine. 40 has nice views down Trinity Inlet IIRC.

Well VA , rejected my min bid (not surprised) & decided to roll the dice & think they will get $1285 for the last J seat tomorrow .... Im in 4A anyway on what looks like a lightly loaded flight .

Checked in for the DT on the 7th Floor - 720.

This time tomorrow cant come quick enough ....in hindsight ( its a wonderful thing) I should have had the full day of work instead of 1/2 day.

Just put a bid in for the return on Sunday night with J5 showing at the moment. Let see how that goes.

Its still there ...come on VA , give me the last J seat please ...no one is going to buy it for $1285 !!!!!

40 gets a view down the inlet towards the shipyards.

Thanks, but I'm just catching up on the forum now. Anyway, selected 4D, so all is good. 4E/F are still occupied. 4A is also available, while 4B is your shadow. 5C and 6D are also occupied at the moment. From the ticketing side, it's currently J1Y3 so a pretty full flight on the late Sunday afternoon.

And it looks like I'm breaking the AFF T&C, but I can say that QF made me do it. Currently in SYD now, was booked on 36 from SIN and connecting on 414 to SYD, but 36 was overbooked so they asked me to take 82 instead. Time for an ORC claim...

That's all that are left as all the ocean views are gone on Level 6. But we are higher on the upgrade list because of our digital request.

Is it worth checking in on-line or wait and try and get a room with a balcony?

Can't help you, first time I have used the App and don't know the upgrade policy of the DT Management.
