Due to a major mixup with my ex "ball 'n' chain" I have my offspring this week and have had to cancel (for a 2nd time :() My trip to an AFF meet.

So did anat0l :oops:. But a quick glance at the subject topic should clear any misconceptions either of you have....

HMMM I had it is my head it was September.......

Good...because not only would you have made the same mistake I did (thanks LW!), but my next thought would have been that you could go, but then the question would be whether your ankle biters both weigh less than 32 kg....

:p

(just kidding)

As it turned out, 26th November is Thanksgiving, so I wont be able to make it for the 29th Nov session, as I will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house (think 8 hrs to roast a whole turkey, plus pecan pie, pumpkin pie, etc etc)

On the other hand.. if you are stuck for a place to eat, you're welcome at humble abode... Just let me know first.

cheers

Not sure if I've already mentioned this, but I'll be a no-show for this one due to my other travels planned in Nov and early Dec.

Hmm, client meetings in ADL have been scheduled for 7 November, so I am now unlikely to be back on 28-30 November (unless I am flying through to see my Perth clients - now that's an idea ). Let's see what happens.

Alright..... the winery thing seems to be a flop, and it's getting a bit close with not enough commitment to book, so an alteration to the itinerary.

Suggested Plan

Friday Night

Welcome drinks @ The Tap Inn (Welcome to The Tap Inn) - 5 min taxi ride max, and over 70 taps including 54 'wines on tap':shock:

Saturday

09:30 - 17:00
Car Rental - I'm happy to drive, then we can go wherever/whenever/not be restricted by time.
Will include some tasting of the grape varieties, and a lunch at a nice vineyard.

19:00 - 22:30
Mapo - Korean Restaurant - Adelaide - Dinner @ Mapo Korean Restaurant (average cost of 3 course meal ~$50)

Sunday
Cricket (Test match day 3, Australia v New Zealand) 10.30am->5.30pm $27 for general admission
or
TBA
-- any ideas :?:

Not sure how the winery thing went belly-up. How much notice do we need to give? Or was it that it wasn't really discussed on the board? I'll admit I'm lazy but I think most people were sitting back and waiting for someone to go "OK, booked/talked to owner at winery, now let's think how to pay/who will be DDs, etc."

Seems less attendees than the last AFF Gather, with a few still sitting on the fence....hopefully will still be a viable crowd...

As for the TBA on Sunday, if most of us aren't sleeping in then there may be an idea for late lunch (i.e. allow sufficient time for extra sleep + recovery :) although I loathe to be late up since Exec Lounge b'fast ends at 10.30am I think on Sundays). Lunch ideas - not sure of any great places.... My friend said there's a nice cafe called Chocolate Bean (no surprises what they specialise in), but I'm thinking not many of the attendees have a sweet tooth....

Well, looking at the cheapest option of about $650 all in, I'm not prepared to stump up that much and then only have 4 people say they will go on it... YMMV.

Fair enough - we need at least probably 8 to make a comfortable number - a dozen would be good.

I can suggest Chianti for lunch/brunch/breakfast on Sunday...
They serve really good food and have great selection of wine.. Chianti Classico: citysearch

I'm happy to book a table for us.

cheers
