AFF Medical Meet?

I'll be at HSW Sat night hopefully with an exec upgrade. I am able to give a 7/7 talk if there is interest.

Happy to go with the flow for dinner although Chin Chin looks interesting.

I will be there too!

am staying at the GH as part of my diamond challenge (which I have used one of the suite upgrade vouchers). Have lounge access so can guest 1 in.

edit: I'm guessing after party is at my place as its so close to chin chin?

I'll be there
I have heard recent good reports of Chin Chin Restaurant...but they'll only let one booking of ten to twelve happen

I like Chin Chin. The food and wine have both been quite good in my experience.

It is one of the new wave of "walk up" resturants. They don't take reservations (except in the case of a 1 larger group table). Diners are reuired to walk up, put their name down, and wait for a table to become available. Given Chin Chin's popularity, for a Friday or Saturday evening, you can expect an extended wait (~ hours) unless you book that larger table.
Last Sun week, prior to the tennis final, infinity, I and our respective +1s had a late Sunday lunch at Chin Chin. We got there around 1 pm, was told there was a 30 minute wait, so we went downstairs to the bar for a drink; 20 mins later we got a SMS saying out table was ready. If you are hungry, I highly recommend the $66 "feed me" option where they keep bringing food out until you plead with them to stop....2 hours later, we rolled down to the Rod Laver arena:shock: It is a noisy restaurant so conversation can at times be difficult, and you are very close to your fellow diners, but the food was truly very good - fusion Thai with other Asian flavours! Oh BTW sorry, i can't make this meet :(

I'm booked, HSW with exec lounge as HH Diamond. Myself +1 will be there, my first AFF meet.

new update
yes Saturday march 2

Sorry we're out. Opposite ends of the country. We'll be at Hilton Cairns kicking back whilst celebrating (commiserating) our 20th wedding anniversary!

Enjoy yourselves!

so atm its 6
i suggest we aim for chin chin +/- a wait but pick coser to teh date as more people mayor may not turn up now it actually seems to ne happening
MAybe we can just make it a melbourne drinks thing!

MAybe we can just make it a melbourne drinks thing!

If that ends up being the case then you might get a few more attendees.

I'll be there along with two other friends (one of whom is an occasional AFFer), but we're there for the air show and didn't want to crash your medical meet (didn't even realise it was on until Jessica pointed it out in the Hilton thread) :)

I reckon we throw the doors open to anyone who has driven past a hospital... ;)

Eligibility criteria to attend
Having discussed with an AFFer about them attending as an exhibit i have realised that the eligibility criteria to attend this seems to be
"ever having chatted to a member of the medical , nursing or allied health professions" EVER!

so there you have it

Melbourne drinks
That saturday (And it seems some of us will be there Friday as well)

Combined medical airshow whoever session!

I'm a scratching for this, sorry :(
I'm going to the FT AGM a couple of weeks before, then off to GLA shortly afterwards so have used up all my leave passes from Shrek :p

Hi all, I just belatedly came across this thread.
I would have loved to meet up with some more of the AFF community of Medicos; but unfortunately not able to get there for this event.
(Now if anyone happens to be in SYD T1 on Friday the 8th, happy to raise a glass in the F lounge :) )

Look forward to another meeting perhaps (pending outcome of this year's obviously!)

I'm a scratching as my MEL trip was on Monday. Whilst I'd love to visit the Airshow, not this year...
