AFF Member Stock Discussion

Decided to buy both OZG and WIC as there can be a profit between todays prices and the takeover WAM share offer. There is more than 10% for a couple of months. Always a risk if offer does not go ahead.

MAF still open for a few weeks. Assume it will likely be scaled back albeit not sure how many shareholders they have
(Until recently this was Moelis Australia)

We have been in MAF since they listed and we bought more when they had a weak price period. Moelis has a director who helped us a few years ago so we stayed on board. Yes we subscribed early so we wouldn’t forget to take the SPP up.

CTD is one of 17 stocks held by Ophir which is OPH at 30th June. Their acquisition of HelloWorld is the reason for the fund raising.
We don’t have any. $21 was the price that the instos paid.

Any thoughts on the CTD share purchase plan?

What is asking price?

Looking at the technicals, CTD may have changed trend but it is not yet confirmed. I'd be a little wary of committing more capital until I knew what the price was doing.

Have decided to cull several underperformers in January. The gold price jump will help boost our gold shares if that price jump holds.
If we were CTD shareholders we would take up the SPP as it is a $21 or less offer. We don’t have any.

Happy New Year fellow sharetraders.

May it be a good one.

Personally my prediction (FWIW) is best summed up by Bette Davis in ‘All about Eve’… “hang in boys were in for a bumpy ride”
@cove - always good to start with a spring clean
I tried to find a RAT manufacturer on the asx or at least a local sub but no such luck !!
I did a good clean up when prices were crazy with a tidy capital gain in Nov/already offloaded APT earlier.
CSL SPP - I’ll dip into

Got TLS for my children, bought at $3, am holding. Genuine long term hold.

You think SP may be at its top end or you have other plans for your capital?
Bought TLS Oct 2020 for $2.77. Taking the profits and moving them to WBC, which I think will make 10 to 20% within next 12 months.

WBC looks like a good bet, have been watching a few youtube videos on books and shares, and since my travel budget is 0 i seem to have some spare cash,

Trying to decide whether Webjet or Flight Centre maybe worth a bet, always worth putting money in when you know the market, but I don’t use either but more likely to use FlightCentre.

Just received our end of year Bell Potter summaries.
Have a couple that need to get sold off. The rest is good.
We are disappointed with Westpac. They keep reporting more screw ups.
Do you think they have finished their bad news?
We bought some WBC for our eldest favourite son at $15 but they really have struggled price wise.
After almost 40 years as a middle markets customer they needed my ID. Pretty shocking stuff.
Currently we split our office forex between Bell FX and Westpac.

I had tons of WEBJET but sold all to offset some substantial gains . This was over a year ag
…To my surprise last week got a dividend of several hundred dollars from shares I owned as of March 20! I’m avoiding travel literally and on ASX for 2022

Telstra have a buyback at the moment. The price looks ok around $4.18 to $4.20.
We liked Resimac trying to buy back 10% of their shares as the price drifted down to a PE of 7 ish so we bought before the buyback started. That one is RMC. This is one of our bigger holdings and we don’t sell them as they are driving down their operating costs and making solid profits under the current management who are doing a great job.
