The big seller of WAM shares has stopped after belting out about 50 million units.
It wasn’t me……

Ok we bought some Cromwell which is CMW at 79.5 cents last night. Have friends trying at 79 and 78.5 so they will get bragging rights if they get them. Cromwell are about a month off another quarterly distribution entitlement.

Am assuming this gets paid quarterly?

Yes that one Cromwell pays quarterly at 1.625 cents unfranked so the pretax yield is ok at more than 8% currently. Next entitlement will be around 30th June and it gets paid about 7 weeks later.
Bragging rights go to those who buy below 79.5……

I was fortunate to get some at 79c a couple of weeks ago! My head is expanding as I write this.

Is there an online broker who does US trades without the use of a custodian, I want to direct own the shares

You could apply for an ITIN with a US accountant. Then use the ITIN to open a US brokerage account, which many have no fees in trading.

This opens up your ability to open US personal/business checking accounts which opens the world to obtain US issued credit cards which might be of interest.

Would this not then potentially complicate tax residency status?

Depends on how you set it up. Was told by an accountant setting up in places like Nevada, Wyoming there are no CGT on stocks, also setting up via INC/LLC C-Corp you can legally hide assets from certain govt due to privacy laws in state.

Speak to your accountant to find out if this move might be for your or not. But obtaining a ITIN to access free brokerage could be worth it depending on situation.

YMMV…!

I’ve most of my stock holdings on US brokerage account. Have a virtual address in NV so will be taxed federally only and no state income taxes on CTG on sale of stocks. As a LONG investor of TSLA will not have to worry about this when selling maybe around 2030, then looking at LLC S/C Corp or INC to legally hide assets from govt. Check with your accountant for financial advice.
