AFF Member Stock Discussion

We didn’t get many Gage Roads shares in an allocation on Friday. It was 40,000 shares instead of the million we applied for so we were surprised.
i've been disappointed with Gage and the way they treat retail holders. The price is below placement now but still not keen on topping up. It was only a small punt for me and i'm almost ready to write them off. Do you have a view on them as a business?

Ramamba the Gage Roads beers are what I consider to be close to undrinkable along with Rogers from the other guys. Now my two sons think I am an old beer crazy but I can drink Crown, Hahn, Cascade, Carlton ,Corona, Koors,Bud, Kronenberg and beers like these.
Gage is exclusive at Optus Stadium and there are a slew of games in the next few weeks to get some boost to their business. They are better than break even trading now so no need to panic. We are down $200 because we were allocated almost no shares and then they dropped.
You might try a mining share instead but they might prove to be riskier than Gage at around 4.5 cents. We bid for a million shares at 5 cents and we were allocated 40,000.

Heineken shares have done well despite the virus...not quite back to their peak but picking up. Agree re your ideas on beer Cove

We are getting deluged with brokers offers. Time to be very selective is what we are thinking.
Our TRR shares in the UK is a royalties trust which is getting going. We took up some in an issue at 20 pence and they will be buying royalty streams. They have moved up to 27 pence but this is a long termer for us so it should go ok.
Our gold shares have performed well this last couple of weeks. I went for CEL which is Challenger as they drill a large target.

How does one get on the relevant mailing lists?

We have multiple brokers and we are called sophisticated investors with all of them.
We are shareholders of Euroz so that helps. They even pay dividends.

why didn’t we all buy Tesla in January?

In January, one of my fellow Uni students was telling me how good his Telsla were doing, and I should get in. After a bit of discussion, he showed me the profile, price graph etc. He had one (1) share. o_O Price was abt $250 then and I thought on a hiding to nothing.

That's OK, I also missed a few mining share bonanzas.

My two sons are getting started. Will be interested to see what interests them.
Last week E25 firmed up nicely.
The futures market is positive over the weekend.
We had several shares go ex dividend last week some of which are franked. Often the price drops by more than the dividend which is a mystery to us.

Qantas shares are likely to tank this week and I don't see the need to do their SPP.

Qantas have released the result of the SPP. The offer was taken up by 8660 of 173343 eligible shareholders, with an issue price of $3.18, having raised $71.7 million of the $500 million sought. The shares are trading at about $3.42 at the moment, moving up with the market today, but I think it was a good SPP to avoid.

There isn't much upside to the price in the short term. They should have a dramatic upswing once the state border controls are lifted and domestic flights can resume on more normal basis, whenever that will be.

The market took off today so many stocks were looking good. Tomorrow may be a different story of course.

Seems like Cyber Security stocks have been taking off lately. TNT, AR9 & WHK have all performed very well recently.
