AFF Member Stock Discussion

Discovered we were not the only investors having issues completing the US forms for their US taxation regulations. Had 5 pages of explanations to read that we felt were not that helpful. We believe we have now filed these declarations correctly. Have had them for Cromwell, Sundance, Ophir and others.
Should be a better day in the stock market but gold and silver both dropped in the precious metals trading.
Today Veem report was pretty good. Their code is VEE. Their ship/large boat stabilizers are gaining traction.

Yep - looking at the micro-x SPP, Probably in - but like cove said feels expensive
Nice to see Good Drinks Australia - GDA (formerly gage roads) showing some nice upward movement - even well before their awesome sales update and stadium contract extension.
Aurora (A3D) hitting the fume milestone.
Hazer(HZR) still climbing fast, Andromeda (ADN) leveling out after a stellar rise.

Edit - and I'm guessing expectations of a good CBA result next week too

Happy days - for now

@Dave Griffin we regularly tell our eldest son that we don’t like the taste of Good Drinks Australia’s beer. We go ok with their alcoholic ginger beer.
Hahn, Cascade, Coopers, Crown and Great Northern are all so much better beers......
Spoke to a fund manager today and got some ideas as Mrscove has some slush to invest.
He likes AMA which we still have some left.
With MX1 don’t be afraid to buy them on the market if they drop below the issue price.

I must admit I am partial to Single fin - although currently Eagle Bay brewery is drop of choice.
More importantly I look around at what others are drinking :)

I agree with you about Gage Road beers, not good at all, but they do seem to get their product into entertainment events/venues a lot. Single Fin is the best of the bunch though, still give me a headache after a few though.

I own some FFR so have some Firebird shares coming in the IPO, not sure if I should apply for more, going through the prospectus over the weekend if I have time

AGL are reporting on Feb 11th according to Bell Potter and consensus is a profit of around $309 million. They will be writing down assets by about $2 billion so it is a big screw up and we are not going there until all the facts are out in the open.

It's important to have the whole story!

Again though, the price action was telling you in advance that something hairy was going to be announced.

Lots of dividends are being declared from trading up to December 31st and that will pose a problem of where to invest these payments. The fiscal fiend has its own ideas and most of ours are due by March 2nd. Franked dividends are more helpful than unfranked ones.

I almost always buy high yield and fully franked shares.

Big move with VOC Vocus today with a hefty takeover bid (still trading at a heavy discount) - this company has had a history of takeover bids falling over.

Also a big increase in one of my bottom draw stocks FRX Flexiroam over the past week. As a travel related stock it's been smashed by Covid but has been pivoting to IoT offerings, and has recently been approved as an eSIM offering for iPhone.

Well although not a day trader I do trade the risky end of the market, usually successfully.
Friday bought TMR at $0.24.
Today they announced a very positive gold discovery.Price at close $0.295.Tempting to sell but I will hold a little longer.

We were pleased with the bid for Vocus. There had been some pretty poor comments made about them over the time we have held them. VOC is one we have held for a long time.
Those TMR drilling results were exciting drron.
Had 3 share placement offers today but it was a work day so we didn’t have time to study them.

We handle one sons shares and our other son handles his own.
When we bought COG shares for him at 6.3 cents the very next sale was at 5.4 cents and that troubled us.
Fortunately they are doing better than that share price drop so we are more relaxed now that they are over 9 cents. Picking the turning point is not possible.

Nick Scali paid back the taxpayers money. You can take them off the don’t go there list.
Looked at Mader but will hold off buying for their report to issue.
Austal price is at an interesting level but we are not there either.
