AFF Member Stock Discussion

@MARTINE you can google it as it is an ASIC term where you need net assets of $2.5 million and/or $250,000 net income. You then lodge the accountant certified certificate with your broker so you can participate in share placements.

so you can participate in share placements… WITHOUT the nanny state financial advice disclaimer...:)

Yes it can get riskier @tgh if you are not super careful as there are offers that may not pass “the pub test” when you look back at the duds you may take up. Unfortunately you generally have a few hours to decide YES or NO.

If we start travelling again it is not easy to handle based on the time to reply to offers. We are pretty much grounded in WA. Currently we can go to Tasmania and South Australia and get back with a G2G pass.

Be careful with this Sophisticated Investor status. You can get conned legally if you pick poorly.

Hi Wise Ones,
Just wondering, is there a simple way of finding companies based in/registered in Queensland I.e. hold their AGMs in the state?

Disclosure is "nanny state"... Okaayy.

Disclosure is one element that you are choosing to perhaps defend a burgeoning bureaucratic "nanny" vision of human competence.

Yes we were there at Optus and the crowd was noisy to say the least. We had great seats.
Bex is better but what will you do with the money you save at Freecorns. Old adverts for forgotten products and businesses....
This week TVL will list.
We wrote an option to get 0.74 on the US dollar in December using Bell FX.
We invested more in the Ophir Global High Conviction Fund on Sunday as money never sleeps.

Well @samh004 i think you dodged a bullet if you built a home and avoided buying Latitude shares.
I saw they are at $2.17 which is very close to a years low.
It's interesting where this thread started and where we are now. I was a little bit more invested (no pun) in stocks back then, but I'm not as much right now as times have changed and I have refocused a lot of my life. I am sure I will get back to it one day and this thread will come in useful again.

Ophir Global High Conviction Fund as Monday is the close off date for an October investment. The fund has been a very good international performer and you need to have “Sophisticated Investor Status “ signed off by an accountant.
Is that a fund for lawyers, or their um, unsuccessful clients?

Would Rudi etc be classed as sophisticated investors? 😊

@RooFlyer all the Ophir Funds have all been successful so far. The one we mentioned is still open for sophisticated investors and we would visit them in Sydney each time we went from Perth. Currently we cannot go to Sydney unless we are planning to be there for months. Sydney is nice but not that nice.

We just received the Transurban TCL email.
@samh004 you started this…..then we all pretty much stopped flying…..so we have to do something.
So today we took up the AMA and the Transurban issue.
AMA may have a better time of folks crashing their cars when the lock ups finish.
Transurban looked pretty expensive @ $13 but retail investors don’t sell this stock.

So tomorrow TVL list at 11am. They are a spin off from After Pay.
They issued at 40 cents.
We have no idea what the market will do with this one.
VEEM and BELLEVUE are under the price of their share purchase price offer.
