AFF Member Stock Discussion

Broker very strong today ..sell cba….maybe I will now sell a few
Broker can't go wrong really.. arguably at the top with a correction awaiting stage right
Yes, I let a few CBA go today. Can’t believe that there won’t be a bit of a fall coming up.

Yes that was a big day for most of us. We had a long lunch so all I did was get some AN3PI before the price moved up. These go ex dividend on December 5th which isn’t too far away. That is an ANZ Bank hybrid that finishes in March,2028.

What are the charts telling us about CBA? I have a friend who insists CBA are a strong buy up to $200! He never seems to have any money though.
It's a bit hard to say where it might go to. When a stock is making new all time highs, there is no overhead resistance. Looking back over the last few years, there was resistance around $110, and it was rangebound for couple of years. That level subsequently became support once the price broke through it.

I think we might see a pull back around the $166-168 mark, but that won't necessarily be the top.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on CBA and see what happens though.

Remember that other Aussie battler CSL…

RFK JR is hurting CSL with his anti vax ideology.
We are old enough to remember all the nasties that were around before vaccines were developed.
Trump has picked a dumb cough for a health role.
Agreed
My point was that when CSL hit $100 it was said to be overpriced then $200…it even got to $300
Even with significant drops it has been above $200 for some time now..

I was late to the CSL party so we paid about $250 for 800 shares. RFK JR is not helping CSL.
Have been working with the accountant to finalise one of our share accounts for the fiscal fiend. We are close to getting that one done.
The ATO are now checking the capital gain on the sale of our business and they offered to “help”.
We have quite a bit of travel booked so I do hope their “help” is not delayed.

Let's keep the politics out of it please.

As I said, CBA could well go higher, much higher. I just posted my thoughts on when we might see a pull back, not a ful blown change of trend.

CSL had a world class product and an opportunity.
CBA is just a big bank with a guvmn't guarantee ; a stable business with a stable and predictable profit .
Other than a possible rerating Internationally there seems no logic for the run
Perhaps it has a soon to be revealed secret deal to merge with an International operator and become a bigger bank in world terms.

On some chat boards a suggestion that CBA are working on an AI initiative. Personally can't see that being world shattering.
They could of course add to the bottom line by AI replacing humans. but then a few old fogies like me will take their business elsewhere.
Oh, speaking of AI and sticking with 10yr performance, NVidia Corp is up a modest 26,979%….! 😳

The amount of time/effort/money going in bank/contact centres/fraud departments to get AI up and running is very interesting.

Of course, it's all meant to make the user experience better, but it's about cutting staff/costs..

Why pay a contact centre wage of $60-80K pa when AI can do it for "free"

For “less” (perhaps). The implementation, and ongoing costs aren’t cheap but they might actually be more reliable and than a human also.

Well yes they (AI) don't call in sick and/or give out incorrect information... once they learn it/read the correct documents.

Yep, but my point is the “software” (the AI) isn’t free. The banks will be paying a lot for AIaaS (or some other iteration/combination of XaaS). Ongoing fee for a clod based service or the likes. Big $$$ involved integrating and securely operating it alongside the banking systems.
