AFF Member Stock Discussion

I have about $35k across the two - which is my “rats and mice” category. They do have a finite shelf life (still a while away) but they do suffer from negative sentiment now and will through to the end. But I do expect an uptick coming but we live in interesting times and it could easily go the other way…
WDS results a bit mixed but seems to have stemmed the downward trend - for now.

I went to top up my holding but for some reason transferring cash into Nabtrade was slower that usual (still hasn’t arrived…). It’ll be there o/n and reassess in the morning. ~9% div return could be handy as interest rates start to fall.

Do you think they will get the NW shelf extension approval?
Don’t know. There was some media coverage that WDS CEO was slamming Federal Gov and approval delays for some projects. Need to to track down the coverage.

With Woodside they are a reliable gas supplier to Japan, Korea and Taiwan. The stupids want the north west shelf to finish in 2030 which indicates they don’t know that WA is holding Australia together with mining, oil and gas production. It seems some think money grows on trees. We tried that with Gunns, Timbercorp Great Southern and several others and they all failed.

No @FlyingFiona we don't have any AVZ. They are currently delisted.
It is true that we have 6 pages of stocks and bonds and will start to cut this list down within the next 5 years.
We have tried to invest till its all gone.

Yes, delisted. And my $$ is stuck in them :(

Never had this happen before. I am wondering if anyone else was in the same position with AVZ and if they had received any advice on them in particular.

Not AVZ, but I have some rats and mice caught up in a delisted stock. I have no idea what they are doing these days. It's a right off, as fas I am concerned.

I have been following this thread for quite some time. I am curious to know if there is an ASX stock that @cove has not owned?
Ha, ha, I've made that tongue in cheek comment before!

We do have a failed one this week which is Strandline who have just appointed administrators. Earlier this financial year we had Calidus go bust and the mine got sold to part pay creditors.
Not everything works even if the project looks like a long term winner.
We have more time now as we sold our business 18 months ago.
We have an invitation to hear Philip King from Regal Funds talk in March. I have been told he is pretty good.
March is a big month for receiving dividends.

So sufficient diversification - at least for the ASX!

We started investing in shares when I was17 so I have been at it for 58 years. Made lots of mistakes and have had quite a few successes over the years. I read Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal and Seeking Alpha and tend to watch some CNBC at night. We prefer Australian shares and we like attending AGMs if we can.
