So let's get the next date in the diary. Here goes:

Date - Friday, 13 May (Friday the 13th!)

Time - 6pm onwards

Venue - [Bar Reggio - the rustic Italian we wanted in Jan that was shut] or [Spice I Am] (both walkable to the city)

Theme - King of Grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon)

Rules - Blind tasting. Bring two identical bottles of Cab Sauv of your choice (one concealed). Can be a Cab Sauv straight or a Cab Sauv dominant blend. Can be from anywhere and any vintage of your choosing. Owners of the top picked wines will take away a stash of wine. Dress-up (optional for the brave!).

ALL are welcome. Especially you Penegal.

As promised, I am putting a shout out for any that might want to join a few AFFers in Sydney for lunch this Tuesday. It's our monthly get together. We are meeting at 12:30 at the foot of the steps to the MLC Centre in Martin Place. I'll be opening one of the Swing wines many have been raving about. Don't worry if you are keen to come, but Tuesday doesn't work. There's always another meet up for another month.

With Cabernet and Coonawarra on the menu I thought I'd share a couple of snaps I took of Coonawarra from the sky. One of my mates has his license, so we ducked up for a quick flight around Coonawarra in a Cessna 172. It's a top time of the year, and it's a great way to see it! Hope you all have a blast at this event - I'm sorry I can't make it. Will have to make sure I get to one soon though!
