AFR rumour [confirmed] - SQ to launch SIN-CBR-WLG

I was just able to waitlist for a SIN-CBR (Business Saver) award after getting errored out earlier in the day.

I'm getting the impression every seat on the inaugural has been sold... or the website is just not working (more likely).

I can't pull up either a revenue or award flight on the direct route between CBR-SIN on 25/09.

Back up now, bit more expensive than initial prices. Makes sense.

I'm fine with flexis so long as the cheap ones are still there.

Will take a look later today. Otherwise, might even wait until closer and just risk it. Could score a last minute award seat, or worst case just pay the more expensive flexi.

Would be great to have a little AFF meet up up in celebration!

How are you getting to CBR from MEL Virgin Bart?

Any idea when they will be loading Award flights?

They've been loaded since Monday, already have one booked via Krisflyer. Just make sure you start your search with a day of the week on which the flight actually operates.

SIN-WLG and WLG-SIN are also available on LifeMiles.

Yep, definitely already loaded.

Falls into the same region as SYD/MEL for KF awards.

I keep getting this error

There is no ZONE info defined for this itinerary.

The flights are bookable for Cash but this error comes up every time I change to points

This error is indeed probably correct, the Krisflyer Awards Chart for Singapore Airlines/Silk Air flights has not yet been updated to include Zone 9 - Zone 9 awards (Zone 9 = Australia, except DRW/PER + NZ).

I would both agree and disagree. For flights to LHR the SIN connection is better, but for most Europe flights the connection through SIN is abysmal unless planning to stopover, do some daytime sightseeing or have meetings. In both directions the connections are of the worst type - early morning arrivals and late evening departures.

I'll probably do some daytime sightseeing in both directions. I've never been to (or even transited through) Singapore before, so it's all going to be new to me. Anyone on here in the same situation on 26/9 and/or 8/10 is welcome to get in touch, and we can get lost in Singapore together.

I was going to aim for the inaugural on the 25th which would put me in SIN for the night (or two). Would happily meet up if it comes together! Spent a bit of time there over the past couple of years so could give you a very humble tour from a lover of the city ;)

EDIT: Oops, inaugural is actually earlier, got my dates mixed up!

Watch this space but i am hearing some mail that the evening departure from Wellington and Canberra is going to be brought forward a couple of hours to work in with the current operating hours of Canberra ARFF and ATC.

A couple of hours earlier out of WLG and CBR would put the arrival into SIN at omg o'clock and wouldn't increase the number of possible connections, which probably wouldn't help loads on the route :\.
