Air China Delays/Cancellations

On Sunday 30 September 2018, CA176, the 1020 hours SYD - PVG (A333 B-5925) did not take off until 1102 so expected arrival is 1952, 42 late.
 
Monday 19 November 2018 finds CA173, the 0140 hours PEK down to SYD airborne at 0156 (A333 B-8577) but forecast to not reach its gate until 1603 this afternoon, 33 late.
 
On a very windy Thursday 22 November 2018, CA173 from PEK down to SYD is arriving on runway 25 with A333 B-5978 so at gate time should be at 1615 hours, 45 late.
 
CA173, the 0140 hours PEK down to SYD on Monday 26 November took off early at 0144 hours with A333 B-8689. Arrival is suggested as 1619 hours, 49 late. The returning flight, CA174 has a lengthy turnaround with departure at 2040 tonight so it ought not be adversely affected by the late inbound.
 
Tues 27th of Nov has seen CA173 (PEK-SYD) 1 40am service depart at 2 39, 59 tardy. It has a scheduled arrival time in Sydney of 16 31, 61 late (B-8579)
 
On what has been an extremely wet Wednesday 28 November 2018 in Sydney, CA174, the evening 2040 hours SYD - PEK that took off at 2152 (A333 B-8383) should arrive at 0622 rather than 0440 hours on Thursday 29.
 
CA178, the Thursday 29 November 2018 scheduled 1135 hours MEL up to PVG took off at 1303. Arrival is therefore delayed until about 2023 tonight, 58 late. Aircraft is A332 B-5927.
 
Saturday 1 December 2018 sees AC177 (A332 B-5918) from PVG down to MEL likely to arrive at 0931, 31 late. As AC178 returning is not scheduled to depart until 1135, it should be punctual.
 
CA165 (Tuesday 4 December 2018, the 0040 hours PEK down to MEL with A333 B-8385) took off at 0050 - if anything ahead of time - but arrival is delayed until about 1608 hours, 33 late.
 
Sunday 16 December 2018 sees CA173, the 0140 hours PEK down to SYD redeye that took off at 0227 with A333 B-6101 arriving at a claimed 1633 hours, 43 late. As CA174 is not timetabled to depart until 2040 tonight, it should be on time.
 
On what was a stormy afternoon and early evening in Sydney, CA174, the 2040 hours evening SYD - PEK took off at 2208. A333 B-8386 should arrive on Friday 21 at a suggested 0636 hours, 86 late.
 
Christmas Day 2018 finds CA173 (0140 hours early morning from PEK to SYD that took off at 0247) likely to arrive at 1640 hours, 50 late with A333 B-6101.
 
CA177 (A332 B-5925), the 1915 hours PVG down to MEL on Sunday 30 December took off at 2016. Arrival on Monday 31 is expected at 1009, 69 late.
 
The stormy weather from 1715 hours on Saturday 5 January 2019 has led to huge delays and cancellations, but CA430, the 2140 hours (A332 B-5932) SYD - CTU took off at 2230, not too bad in the circumstances.
 
The 1915 hours PVG - MEL on Wednesday 9 January 2019, CA177 (A332 B-5925) took off at 1951. On Thursday 10, arrival should be at 0930 hours, half an hour behind the timetable.
 
CA177 on Friday 11 January 2019, the 1915 hours PVG - MEL has A332 B-6091, taking off at 2000 hours, about 20 late. On Saturday 12, arrival should be 34 late at 0934 hours.
 
AC177, the Sunday 13 January 1915 hours PVG to MEL took off punctually at 1932 with A332 B-6541. On Monday 14, it has held for a long time over Greensborough - unusual location - while other flights such as QF605 from BNE and QF405 fromYD are also holding. CA177 was due into MEL at 0900 so will be at least 40 minutes late. Flights appear to be departing from MEL.

UPDATE: CA177 has diverted northbound, possibly to CBR or SYD.

After its unexpected diversion to SYD due to the MEL ATC control tower being evacuated (false fire alarm meaning no inbound flights 0930 - 1000), CA177 is travelling from SYD to MEL with arrival likely at about 1320 hours. AC178, the 1135 hours MEL - PVG should be able to depart at about 1435 this afternoon.

Such a delay must cost an airline like this in excess of $50,000 per flight.

On 23 January 2019, CA173, the redeye due out of PEK at 0140 took off at the unsavoury time of 0312 with B773ER B-2043. Arrival in SYD should be at 1647, 77 late.
