On Tuesday 26 July, AI302 (B788 VT-ANA, the 1355 hours DEL - SYD) was not in the sky until 1845 hours in the early evening. Inevitably, on Wednesday 27, arrival should be at about 1106 hours late morning, 246 minutes behind schedule. This will delay AI301, the 0945 hours ex SYD to a predicted 1255, 190 minutes tardy.
AI309, the 0845 hours MEL - DEL on Wednesday is predicted to depart 170 minutes late at 1135 hours.
One advantage of using AI (compared to QF) on MEL - DEL is that in that direction, QFi makes an intermediate stop in ADL: AI does not. AI is unpunctual on its Oz routes too often.
However many still prefer (despite the indirect route) to use SQ to SIN and then connect to the good range of destinations it offers in India. That's what I did pre-COVID.
