Thankyou. I have just sent them a message about both bookings. Will see what happens. Both hosts rejected my request a few weeks ago so will be interesting to see if I get the full refund as promised in the policy.I suggest contacting AirBnB support, I had a prompt reply and the refund has already hit my CC
Looks like you got the last laugh with the whole "you won't be getting a full refund until I'm forced to give it to you" thing from one of your hostsThankyou. seems so, as long as I get it as it stands right now it's not allowing it.Looks like you got the last laugh with the whole "you won't be getting a full refund until I'm forced to give it to you" thing from one of your hosts
I sent two messages to Air BnB about two different places I had booked. Took them around 24 hours to respond, first one (which was my Host who refused a refund) they immediately cancelled and told me I would get a full refund - no questions asked.
the second one they wanted proof I couldn't travel. So I just sent a screenshot about QLD closing their borders, about 10mins later I got a message saying it was cancelled and I would get a full refund.
So all seems well. I will just await the refund which they said could take 10 days. Hope it is this easy.
Great news, yes. I have had contact with the the host who was OK and she said she never got the notice to cancel that I sent a few weeks ago and she would have approved it.Great to hear both refunds have been approved (especially the one where the Host refused!). I was told it could take anything up to 15 days, but all refunds were back on my credit card within a couple of days.

I'm not even going to bother to contact the other Guy. I'm sure he isn't happy. I would feel more sorry for him if he was just someone trying to make a buck on the side but he has a rental agency so can claim Govt grants at the moment. There was no need for him to be a jerk about it all.
I just know not to book his properties when I go back to QLD.
Seems to be an ongoing “glitch” with hosts not receiving the refund request, and then Airbnb automatically saying they’d declined it 48 hours later, there have been so many people (including myself) where this has happened.
I’m sure the other guy isn’t happy either! From what you’ve said, he’s in a better position than many other hosts, so definitely no need for being a jerk. I’d be interested to know who he is so I can avoid his properties too if I’m visiting Qld, maybe you could PM me? Thanks.
