Reported aussie pilots that survived.

Reports indicate crash caused by fire on board.

4 Blackhawks in search at present.

Smokers maybe, tragic, I guess we wait until a report comes out.

Fire in planes is never a good precursor to a happy ending, throw in wicked weather and the general PNG conditions to the mix to rely stack the odds. RIP to those poor souls. It was lucky if I can use the phrase for the survivors to have the happy coincidence of four Blackhawks on station to assist in the evacuation, PNG is not well equipped at all times to deal with events like this that occur on an unfortunately regular basis.

I am not sure if its age will be a factor obviously but she was no spring chicken:

We had two pax scheduled on that service. It's been a very long day.

Still not 100% sure if both boarded and the manifest has not been released. Certainly will be very reluctant to use CG moving forward.
