Airports you've never left! (Well... only transited through!)

I was just thinking about the airport in AUH which later in the year i'll likely transit through for the 10th or more time. I realised I've never seen it from the landside (I have been inside the country via DXB about 5 years ago). I've probably done the same in ATL half a dozen times as well.

Given the way alliance hubs work I figure that's not even in the ballpark for the most anyone would have done that here. Plenty of us have been to SIN, HKG, etc without ever seeing the country.

So... which airport have you been to the most times without ever stepping landside?

In all my years of flying, I can only think of two - BOM (waaaaay back in 1977 when it actually was Bombay!) and DFW twice in 2007 & 2008.

SIN used to be on that list for me, but then I finally decided to book in a stopover so that I could actually have a look around!

The only city left on that list for me now is YYZ - though I have seen many other parts of Canada! :)

DEN for me - thrice transited, never once left the terminal. :(

SIN for me.. Have done 100+ transits thru there, though also have 100+ stopovers, just to balance out the equation. :D

I've visited Singapore by ship, but i've been to SIN so many time, slept a couple of nights there, enjoyed the place at odd hours, and never gone landside. Likewise I've never gone landside in LAX, except in a purely notional sense when transferring flights. Never actually poked my nose out of the terminal. Though again, I've driven through Los Angeles twice.

HEL, never been landside, unless you count getting into a bus to go to the plane and actually walking on the tarmac. Everywhere else, I've always gotten out of the terminal, one way or another, at least once over the years. ORD, DFW, LHR, HKG are my tops for transits. Lost count. SYD, even more so, that bloody bus has my initials carved in it.

Hmm - might have to look at the flight stats to check the actual frequency but the list of purely transit airports is:

DFW - 3
LAX (does walking from T4 to TBIT count?) - 5
ORD - 1
AMM - 4
DXB - 3
BGI - 2
MIA - 2
HEL - 1
FRA - 1

However - I have been through HKG 34 times - and been landside maybe 10 times.

A few for me......three bunched quite close together - YUL, ORD, YYZ

The major one for me in terms of number of times landed/departed (couple of dozen) - LAX. Never been compelled to leave the building......must be more of an East Coast person!

Only two for me DXB and DFW. I'm becoming rather used to a little stopover on the long hauls now. Either I'm getting old or my shopaholism is getting worse or both :D

DFW - about a dozen transits and only 1 stopover, forced due to a late arriving flight from LIT
ORD - about 6 transits
NRT - 1
DPS - 1
LGA - 1
DEN - 1

CGK -3
MLE -1
FRA-2
AUH-2
PHX-2

IIRC
There also would be other obscure smaller airports, on the shorter hops, never really paid attention - the destinations are always more enchanting. :D

LAX - several times
DFW - once
BOS - once (I transited through there and later returned by Amtrak)
CEB - once
YVR - once
AYQ - once (JASA)

Hong Kong and Santiago are my only two, although I've only been landside in Dallas because of flight cancellations.
