The contactless payment is available on trains and trams only for now. Buses and ferries will come online later.

I have a gold go card, so cc won't be optimal.Yes but I was referring to the context of this thread, you don't need a go card to get the air train discount, which makes it a lot more accessible for tourists.

Reward for reaching a certain age. What is a gold go card?

Apologies - I was getting my states mixed up.What is a gold go card?
Exactly the same as using a Go cardAnd does it do a daily/weekly cap if you use multiple times/modes on the CC's?

Maroon Seniors Go Card.
I've seen lots of revenue protection officers on the G (and buses), and I wouldn't think of travelling without a ticket.Yes I thought there was some benefit to the Go Card, I just tap it and dont care about the amount, recharge it when its low. I only use it on occasional visits but if you do it daily it pays to research each leg I guess.
Kinda related...
Does anyone actually pay for the Gold Coast Tram, or in SYD and MEL? I seem to be the only idiot Tapping on and off when I ride...
I know MEL CBD has a free area but do locals get a monthly pass or something and just show the inspector if asked or is everyone just hoping they are not asked for tickets?

And BTW, I'm an Interstate pensioner and my Go Card is maroon coloured (for others who might think otherwise).
I'm a seniors card holder (not pensioner) and reciprocally, they issued me with a maroon card.Interstate pensioners are supposed to use green go cards, as the maroon cards are only for QLD residents (and double as a QLD seniors card).
Fares are the exactly the same for both so it doesnāt make a difference for public transport.
Tell.me about it, for a couple of years in the mid 00's I worked one week a month in Brisbane. Had an arrangement with my BIL to stay at his place (Riviera Apartments). Back then I could get an 8 trip ticket for $80. I used Southbank always planning to play the "dumb mexican" - never needed toAlso confusingly South Brisbane is counted as a city station but not Southbank.
It's South Bank in Brisbane but Southbank in Melbourne and LondonAlso confusingly South Brisbane is counted as a city station but not Southbank.
