Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Thanks for the clarification ermen.

Agreed.... JAL is good value. Especially if based in SIN.
I'll be based in Japan so not as useful but I've got a few ideas.

You should be able to stopover in any airline's hub city - so HKG for CX, Tokyo (and others) for JL, etc. Is there a particular link to a denial of a stopover? (for example perhaps it could be due to married segments).

It doesn't relate to this particular query but I have seen a blog post in the past three or so weeks that says you can't do a HKG stopover on CX when originating in Europe which I found strange.

indeed. I'm guessing someone (or several people) have all tried it and been denied. I can't seem to see any restriction in the terms and conditions.

that is correct.
for the simple reason there is no Europe to non-HKG (eg asia city, NAmerica, Australia) published award route. it is just europe to HKG

Having a hard time with this program. I am trying to book some Japan airlines flights. Availability is showing on line. and Ive seen the availability for the same flights on the QFF site. I keep getting errors in the booking process and Im having no luck when I have rung twice to see if they can book it. The agents are getting error messages too. Very frustrating.

Have you cross referenced with availability via JAL’s tool? Appreciate JAL may have more availability for its members, but if the seats aren’t there, it might explain why AS can’t book it. I’ve previously seen availability on both the AS and QF tools for an F seat that wasn’t actually available for booking (confirmed by JAL).

Are you trying to book with a stopover in Japan? Or are you starting/finishing in Japan?

Think the Sapporo leg was my issue. Once I dropped it out of the equation I was able to get the Haneda Singapore business. Maybe not making full use of the scheme but happy to get 4 business tickets for the family.

Hi all, from my own searching I've found the answer is 'no', but I'll ask here just in case: Can you book jetstar flights using mileage plan? I know you can book qantas but I was looking at some flights BNE to LST and jetstar fly direct whereas qantas do a stop via MEL. I'd prefer the direct.

No. Nor, FWIW can you book Cathay Dragon as opposed to Cathay. ( I mention as the pairs have similar relationships to each other).

Does anyone know how long it takes for a points purchase to go through?

I ordered some points Friday morning and got a message that I will receive an email when my order is processed but haven't heard anything yet and there are no miles in my account?

My 500 Alaska miles will expire soon. It looks like there are too few to do anything or gift to someone or buy unless anyone knows differently?
