Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Alaskan is great! In the midst of booking my first trip now.

Almost zero First Class redemption though which sucks

Cx releases 5 x J seats normally.

We have the following booked:

25Th Dec - 5 x J - per - hkg
26th Dec - 5 x J - per - ewr

12th Jan - 5 x J JFK - Hkg
14th Jan - 4 x premium eco - 1 x Y

Need ti keep looking for that last leg to see if J becomes available.

This is the 2nd time i have been able to get 5 x J seats perth - north america.

Used 300,000 alaska miles and balance QF points however the low taxes charged is the winner via hkg!!

Have been chasing a J seat on BNE - HKG with CX in late December since the calendar opened. Couldn't find availability that Alaska could actually see, so booked a PER-HKG instead.

Today while checking, I noticed that 2 seats popped up on the BNE - CNS - HKG flight on the exact day I was chasing, called in and changed with Alaska in under 3 minutes. Didn't even need to be transferred to the partner desk, initial agent could do it all.

Happy camper!

Now just to keep an eye on the HKG - LAX/SFO/YVR in F to see if I can switch to the day I need.

The 1800 number on the website is USA 1800.. as suggested by Mumfreqflyer you can call on Skype the USA number and you do not need any Skype credit..

I just use Skype app on my phone for calling USA 1800

There's no contact number for Australia. You will need to call the USA.

You can use 0011-800-25275200 which will dial straight from Australia. Of course, beware if you don't have international calling included in your monthly phone bill!!

Are there any best programs to credit a few miles to eg Velocity?

That number answers as the US Postal Service. I am having no luck getting through to them and have called a number of numbers. Sometimes the wait is up to 2 hours. Can anyone advise a working (skype) number please?

anyone booked CX (HKG to MEL) before ? I've search availability on BA, but only managed to find HKG to SYD, does that means no HKG to MEL ? the dates I wanted will be next year feb or early march..

If you are wanting to use Alaska miles, you'll have to call them. Their award availability on CX is not the same as general CX 'award' availability. You have to call them to book CX anyway.

im aware I need to call and book for CX flights, but I cant find any availability for HKG - MEL.. will check QFF to see any seats for that..

Seats get released 331 days out so for March you are too early.
I find QF a site to look for availability better.
