Am I a weirdo? I never use the IFE

Agree with several others. Mainly use the IFE for the map. I mainly BYO entertainment in the form of music, podcasts and iPad games. IFE is nice to have but I beyond the map, I wouldn't use it too much.

I'm another map only ife user, usually I put my headphones and ipod on and/or sleep. My husband on the other hand, he downloads the TV guide and plans a TV marathon.

Nothing too weird there Duffa. Enjoy the bubbles and the meal service. Oh and sleep is not over rated especially if you have had a couple of glasses of red.
One tip I can give you is there is no need to sit next to MrsD on long hauls. On SQ we tend to go 2A and 3A and it works out fine. MrsC watches whole series of dramas while I am dreaming.

Map only IFE. I have an iPad Pro 13" with a better quality and larger screen than most IFE systems so I just load that full of content and watch that.

I couldn't do without IFE. Play games and watch some movies and time flies in economy.

Although now travelling with an infant it is not possible to really use the IFE continuously. I may use the IFE to listen to some music and play games on my phone and assust with daughter where possible.

Moving Map and some movies and then fall asleep. Hard to do when family around easy to when by yourself.

So, given the responses here can it be assumed that if you actually use IFE then you're the weirdo? Not us. :p

I don't use it often. If I'm travelling with the family, I'm generally trying to keep the kids amused/make sure they are not annoying other passengers. When I'm travelling alone (esp long haul) then a few glasses of wine and uninterrupted time buried in a book is a rare luxury!

Ah JohnK, that takes me back. Never got to see a thing in those days - and it was only one movie anyway - on the main screen above....

I usually just look at the map or the outside cameras during take off and landing if available. It's funny- I often even check out which movies will be playing beforehand but then when it comes to it, food, booze and the view outside are so much more exciting.

Therefore one of my pet hates is it when the crew (and annoying co-passengers) insist on having the blinds down during the flight. I LOVE looking out there and, as a side, it makes me feel much safer when I do for some reason. And I fly a lot, never changes.

+2 for movie bingers! On flights with Asian or ME carriers, I usually watch Bollywood or Egyptian movies with subtitles for something new and different!

I'm an avid reader but unfortunately can't pass the time this way on a plane (or any other mode of transport, for that matter) because if I do, I suffer from horrendous motion sickness, despite taking preventative medication. I can - and do - watch the IFE, especially on longhaul flights, otherwise I think I'd go nuts sitting there for anything up to 15 hours! In addition, I'm a nervous flyer and don't enjoy air travel at all - to me, it's just a necessary evil, so I also use the IFE as a distraction technique to get my mind off where I actually am LOL.

Have exactly the same problem. I can go on ships, show rides and whatever without getting sick. But beware me reading something in a car or airplane, instant sickness!

I use the IFE as an opportunity to catch up latest release movies.

I will usually wait until the meal service is over before settling in.

The same for me. Flights are the only way I watch films these days. Happiness is long haul with a backlog of films to get through.

I'm another + you can add the other three amaroos that have the IFE on and watching. These days I can't stand owning laptops or tablets, gave them away.

I use it all the time on flights over an hour or two.

Generally it is the time I can catch up with newish releases ... (or some old ... hadn't watched "The Terminator" until across the Pacific in June).

Or binge watch Star Wars...
