I’m flying this month from PER to JFK. I’m flying budget to CGK and the business to JFK return flying American Airlines codeshare Qatar for $4180.00. The same flight advert from PER on Qatar W.A. over $13,000. It pays to look at long haul legs out of Asia

Similar strategies being discussed here…

But that AA deal to the US is a cracker.

Absolutely. I noticed it a few months ago but kept it quiet to hopefully keep it off the travel blogs.

Seem to be able to book as AA codeshares which should get QF status bonuses, and add one or two US stops in different cities with internal flights in F at very good prices.

Only downside is the PER-CGK options (at least on the days I was after) were shocker schedules if you want to fly daytime.

It’s been in the blogs and FT on and off for a year or so. There might even be a thread here… It’s primarily a JFK deal but I recall seeing Philly and DC as open jaw options.

Nice. Yeah I think I had priced 2 pax cgk-doh-jfk/jfk-clt-rdu/rdu-dca/dca-jfk-doh-cgk or something like that for 4500 each (approx).

You can actually pack in 6 AA domestics on the east coast. It's actually not a bad earner. You can also route this fare as far as the west coast of the US and then back to the east coast!

Oh that's cool. I tried to get to the midwest but must have hit a limit somewhere. Will get in touch with you if we end up wanting to maximise one :)

Will the AA codeshare flights on QR metal be able to credit to QFF?
Yes. They meet the OW operated AND marketed criteria.

The QF earn calculator doesn’t recognise AA on CGK-DOH nor DOH-JFK but the SC earn should be no less than 100 + 160 (each way) as per QR marketed flights.

The points earn might be slightly better with an AA codes than what the calculator quotes for QR.

Plus aa status bonuses if you're tiered on qf?

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Actually, I’d forgotten how generous the QF status bonus points are on AA. I believe these can be booked with some QR codes in the mix but probably better to do all AA codes as a QFF.

Using JFK-LHR in J / F as a comparison;

BA (no bonus)

I can report that I received FF and SC credits

I’m getting stuck with this.
I’ve priced out a route on google flights, which will take me to the AA site to pay.
When I go to pay it requires a US address for credit card, same with PayPal, which I don’t have.
If I go with AU card it redirects to the AA local site at which point I can’t recreate the flight.
Am I missing something here, any help would be appreciated.
