I can confirm only receiving from the date I actually registered, and on my card.

Hopscotch Bonus - 0 250
Unfortunately there hasn't been any eligible tx on the supp card so can't advise on that yet.

rep confirmed Yes as both linked to the same Ascent Premium account

Haven't seen a postcard (yet) but sign up seemed successful (let me in). Bonus points have posted - but only for Plat Charge Card, not Plat Credit Card (even though both in the same Ascent Premium account).

Does seem rather strange, considering the T&Cs exclude "Platinum and Centurion cards" - which should exclude Plat Charge, but theoretically allows Platinum Credit Card.

Transaction eligibilty seems to be driven by posting to Ascent - transactions performed before registering, but hitting Ascent afterwards received the bonus. Just to repeat - only the Platinum Charge transactions - Credit card transactions purchased and posted to Ascent later have not received the bonus. Bonus points are posting for both primary and supplementary cards.

My points are posting. Every tx over $20.

So unless your points are showing up online it may be that you are not actually in despite registering.

I'm on - platinum charge card. No conditions excluding Platinum Cards for me.

Cool! Just registered! 100 transactions over $20 (not that easy) between now and end of year here I come!

100 transactions by 31 December is less than 2 purchases a day on my calculations.

I'm pretty sure I'll have a 100 in time to maybe roll them into Velocity by Nov 30th, but don't go overboard like Gordon who lost his points, and right to leave Australia, in bankruptcy. Remember that 25000 is only worth about a quarter of a return flight to LA for example, and 25k + 25% is only worth a third of that return flight. Play nice kiddies

Well I was kind of thinking the pace on this one was nice and leisurely ;)

I my case I have to complete the Points Run by Dec 18 as I will be in Thailand from that date (though can still pay some bills on-line if need be)..

Pity I paid my tax bill five days beore getting the flyer. Could have run up a few $20 bills!

err no....

Based on the Amex Everyday Promo that may see the points reversed and you kicked out of the promo.

Bill splitting was deemed against the general provisions of the Amex MR T&C.

I would suggest to stick to paying any bill in full unless you want to risk not gaining the 25,000 points.

I've got 89 days (date of registration) to do 100 x $20 transactions to max out this promo:shock:...did my first one today:oops:

So any tips:idea: to do this painlessly without breaking the rules (such as paying bills in $20 instalments:p)?...apart from filling my car with fuel at $20 each time, buying my groceries at $20 per trip, I can't think of any quick ways without buying / paying things I don't really need.

My current strategy will probably only get me 1/2 the required transactions...:(

Damn, should have registered when I first saw the post. Only got my letter today.

Confirmed with Plat Services the Plat cards that are ineligible are Charge cards.

, buying my groceries at $20 per trip, .

Maybe you don't eat much or are single??? But just that should get a sizeable chunk.

Pick a shopping centre/strip where Amex accepting outlets are close.

ie I know you are in Sydney and so I cannot suggest a location, but here in Melbourne I know several spots where Coles and Woolworths are almost next to each other. At Chadstone there are a couple of other options too. So $80 and you can have 4.

Pop into Kmart, Big W,Target, Myers and the like for a few clothes you need and you can have another 3-5.

What items may you need from????:

Hardware Stores
Chemists
Top up your Citlink Etag.
Buy some online music.

Buy some train tickets from 7/11.

etc...

Add me as another who has successfully registered for the promo - looking at the points coming through it's only spend on my Platinum Credit Card that's triggering the bonus, so it looks like the Charge Cards will be getting a rest for the next couple of months.

As for ways to pump up the spend - buying toiletries at Priceline or BigW rather than the supermarkets can save money and gives another transaction as well (and they're usually located close together in malls). If you're in the Sydney CBD then Australia Post sells MyZone bus tickets and weekly tickets without any issues using AMEX too. Oh, and if you drink as many energy drinks as I do then buying them in bulk at service stations can often be cheaper than in supermarkets and gets another easy transaction.

Got the folding packet with the promo in the snail mail yesterday. Platinum co-brand with Engineers Australia credit card here.

Too bad I'm heading overseas in a bit, although will put some spending on the card overseas, but overseas merchant transactions don't count :(

Mum has a supp card, so perhaps she'll put it to some good use. :)

I phoned Amex and asked them to check if I was targeted for this because Amex postcards take forever to reach us, must be where we live.

I was told the promo was not available for Platinum Credit Cards as we already get 1.5pts per dollar and the promo was for cards with more limited earning potential. There was something mumbled about association cards, so maybe they are an exception.

I've read through this but would like to confirm. Has anyone with a standard, non-association Amex Platinum Credit Card (mine was upgraded from the Maximiser) received an actual invitation by mail or email?

And when you get diabetes from drinking them you cold pay your doctors bills with your Amex too :)
