Haven't heard anything yet :-(
thanks.
my charge spend is about the same as yours.
some days I think I should jsut apply and then I think a little longer and talk myself out of it being a waste of money for my use cases :p

did either of you actually apply or are you just waiting to be invited?

I know what you mean!
At our spend levels, the additional points over Plat Charge well justify the additional annual fee however

What did you spend it on? I believe they're looking mostly at the type of spend you do from what's been reported elsewhere.

So its been a month now.. And no invite :-(

Thought I'd update the board...

Last months spend was circa 230K for reference.
Hi there, long time lurker here.

Just thought I'd share some info too.

Amex plat since Jan 2022. Expressed interest in Dec 2022 spending was around $650k. Spending was 10-20k a month at the start then approximately 50-70k a month consistently with a few outliers. I had no response in that 60-90 day period and assumed I got knocked back. Was intending to express interest again in Jul 2023 with no expectation to see if things changed but they offered it to me just last month which I have accepted. Initiation fee couldn't be waived.

My YTD spending at time of offer was $520k with the most recent statement being almost $200k but according to them, my expression of interest wasn't even looked at until only recently and was based on my initial spending patterns from Jan 22 - Dec 22. My main 'luxury/travel' spending during that period were some watches, jewellery, 4 separate biz class FF point redemptions, a PE booking via Amex travel, some hotel stays booked via FHR or direct with marriot bonvoy/accor, multiple premium concert tickets and a Tesla. One thing to note is that I extensively used the plat benefits - concierge for restaurant bookings, travel credit, dining credit both overseas and local, accor, fhr, hertz, avis, had 4 supp cards with the additional priority pass assigned and other various amex offers. I'm a big sucker for value so I'll definitely miss the Plat. I'll see how things go for the next two years and report back. I suppose that they also restrict the number of active Centurion accounts so give it some time for people to drop out or reject the invites and I'm sure you'll get one soon. All the best!

I put an EOI over the web chat yesterday, asked a few questions about my lifestyle and interest fields.. Bit weird, but let's see how it goes. :)

Hard to quantify exactly.. Definitely a mix of bus and personal.

Lot's of transactions tho... circa 1400 in the last 12 months, across a large range of merchants...

It seem like 300-500k pa of clearly personal spend, with lots of luxury/travel spend is enough.

I wonder if they have a number in mind for business spend?

Ie, if someone had an amex platinum business card, what would the number be?

Hi Pangs, thanks for the detailed post, and kind well wishes!

Sounds like things are going super well for you, which is awesome to hear!!

I'm sure I will procure one eventually... I still have a lot of scope to spend more and do more with them, so no doubt it's just a matter of time.

As much as anything, its worth getting one just for the extra points earn, at 200k a month spend...

I have got a Platinum card - spending only on person. I am on month one (1 week left on my statement) and I am on $5200.... I guess I am no where near Centurion yet. This thread has been a great read :)

Never underestimate small and humble beginnings!!

Its a journey..

15 years ago I earnt and spent circa 50K a year, as a regular PAYG bloke.

Today I own and run an 8 figure company..

Big changes can happen..

I think when you are in the middle of it all, its easy to think its not happening fast enough, or that it might not happen for you.. and its easy to fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others, particularly others that have simply been at it for a longer time than yourself..

Anyway, I think thats enough philospical thoughts for one morning... And to be clear, I wouldn't want to position myself as some kind of extra special person.. Its pretty obvious that there are stacks of VERY successful people on this forum! I am still a beginner in many ways!

That is amazing and extremely inspirational. Thank you.

Interesting with the level of spending that still doesn't get invited. I joined Aus plat amex in early 2022, spent about $1M, and so far this year have spent $500k+. Have friends who have been invited to join spending only around 500k for whole of 2022. They have a few more years of membership than me, but I had the plat card in another country since 2015...

No call, but I eoi'd a few days ago will let everyone know if I hear back. They have changed to an automated answering service now which sucks.

But I'm fairly sure that you get a complimentary Plat CC with the Cent right? Which does of course...
Yes, but that's for additional card holders. You don't get any of the platinum card benefits as the main card is centurion.

I understand you get 2 cent cards (one for personal and one business) and 4 plat cards but those play cards don't have any of the benefits
