AmEx Free Virgin Flight

I called the number on the website and was given a spiel that:
1. There were no flights available for the dates I wanted (outright lie as there is FF inventory in both J and Y), and
2. That there is an IT issue and the system has been down since Sunday and there's been a ticket lodged.
Admittedly I've only been looking since Sunday for nice, but yes it looks borked.

I ended up calling yesterday twice.

First time was a Perth <> Melbourne flight and it seemed zero availability (even though there was lite and choice flights available). The lady looked at a range of dates and there was nothing.

Second time was a Perth <>Sydney flight, pretty sure it was the same operator and they had the exact flights I wanted.

If I remember correctly you need availability in a specific class of choice fares - I think it was T class - for there to be availability for the Amex redemption flight.

I recently booked PER - MEL - PER quite easily thru the website. Travel completed early this week. Zero points and SC’s have been credited, whereas the connecting flight undertook , points & SC’s credited immediately.
Since when have nil points and SC’s not been allocated for this Amex CC comp flight? Previously all been ok. is it a new cost savings?

These flights have always been nil points and SCs when I've booked them.

When did you book yours in? The site has been down for a while now. 😑

Called the AMEX rewards phone line today, was advised that the webpage is still broken and they don't know when it'll be fixed.
Requested a check of availability for my selected dates and destination (BNE-MEL AFL GF weekend) to be advised that certain flights were available, although this didn't match VFF availability.
I thought these flights came from the same fare bucket as standard VFF?
Ended up biting the bullet and using some points rather than heading to Melbourne 2 days earlier than I wanted to...🤷‍♂️

Agree with stm1sydney - the official wording has always been "no points and SCs on these flights". I know many people have gotten them before, but that's more of a stroke of luck than an intentional program decision.

The fares are based on Economy 'T' cash fare, not reward seat availability.

AND I need to use it by the end of April, and the booking system isn't working again. I can get all the way through to putting in the name of the traveller, and then when I click Continue, I get this error:
