Then you will get the "Why, are you wanting to kill me question like I got".

I got the same reaction when informed my +1 today that I'm getting her life insurance policy. My answer: "Don't worry, I won't do it just for 50K" Lol

I'm signing my +1 this weekend :)....after she signs up for the Westpac Altitude Black card!

I took out qantas life insurance for the bonus points a while ago and that brought out a new side in the missus.
She started mentioning ways that she could do me in and not get caught.

I am not telling her about this round of life insurance.

My payment on Qantas Platinum Alex cleared a couple days ago but no points yet :( - will wait until Tuesday before cancelling

Can I ask a question of people that have 2 different Amex accounts, but are insuring the same person twice?

ie: My partner and I both have Amex Platinum Edge cards, and I firstly logged into my own account, and applied for insurance for myself, set up payment with my own card. Easy peasy.

Then I logged out, logged into my partners Amex account and made another policy for myself (as he is older, and it was going to cost more than twice as much to have a policy for him). I put all my own details for "the insured", and put his card down as the payment card.

Today I got the 2 sets of paperwork, and both are addressed to me, thanking me for my application. I can see under applicant details for both he policy owner is me, not my partner. Life insured is also me on both docs. I'm assuming I have not done this correctly, but I could not recall seeing anywhere that gave an option to fill out a section as "policy holder" rather than "insured".

Seeking some advice here, as I know several people have insured themselves twice, I'm just not sure I've understood the process. I know I'm going to need to call Amex to sort it out, I just wanted to hear some other experiences before I get on the phone. Thanks in advance! :)

OK I bit the bullet, annual premium for 36 yr old female was $47. If I don't get the points, I will just cancel the whole thing, hopefully they will show up next week. Very nerve-wracking to do this without the deal showing up on the Ezicover website but I used the link while logged into my Amex account.

The application only asks for insureds details and that is what policy mentions . Doesn't matter whose card you used or whose account.( but it matters for credit of points )

I can't seem to find any mention of bonus points on the Insurance tab on the AMEX site, including when logged in... am I looking in the wrong place?

You won't find anything. Read the thread and you'll see how this developed.

Well, I've signed up the Mrs twice (she was cheaper than I) with my two other card accounts. Here's hoping for another 40k MR points in a month's time.

I received the points for myself which I used my Amex edge. I didn't receive the points for the Mrs though, which I used my supp Amex business Platinum Charge card under her name.
Should I apply for another insurance under the primary Amex platinum charge card? Seems like they won't give bonus points for a supp card.

Supp card was never advertised as working.

Thanks for clarifying for me, so it doesn't matter whose name the policy is in, or who is insured, it's the card that the policy is paid from that's going to count. Excellent.

Now to find two more ppl to sign up, as I also have a platinum reserve card.

Has been mentioned by several others including myself that you do not need to find other people to sign up. Just do another policy in your own name and you will get the points just fine.

I'm just thinking when it comes to cancelling multiple policies under the same name, it may be confusing and awkward

This is correct, I'm not disagreeing :)

If signing up just for points, as I assume most here are, there are cost advantages for older members when insuring a younger family members or friends over themselves ;)
