2x premiums cleared today and 2 more lots of 20,000 bonus points. All up, 60,000 for less than $80 spend. I love it when a plan comes together :).

For me Explorer and Charge cleared but still waiting on Qantas. Maybe QF points take longer then MR to post.

Geez, I really hope they do this promo again (but I'm not confident they will), my cards didn't arrive until the 2nd August so I was devastated I missed out on this great bonus offer!

2 x 20,000 posted this morning over platinum edge and explorer (linked to accent). Completed both applications on 2nd last day of promo.

Sits nicely with the 10,000 last week for 2 x additional cardholders :D

got my second bonus today, I think I signed up about end of July,
my points balance has gone up by 20k , but its not showing up on the detailed list yet

My bonus 20k MR points came through overnight to go nicely with the 20k VFF points from last week. As I'm in the 18-month dog house with Amex I have to take anything I can get.

Has anyone cancelled their policy before the 6 months period?

I did on my velocity platinum. A few days later they began a process to deduct 20,000 vff points from me (which presumably would have occurred at the time of my monthly sweep to velocity) but as I was cancelling anyway I pulled the pin before they could reclaim my ill gotten gains.

So for the sake of $30ish you pulled the insurance after the minimum period, why

This is why companies don't do promotions like this all the time, because people take advantage of it (in the scheme of paying for points) for an insignificant individual gain.

Got 3 x 20k points now - awesome!

Just have to remember to cancel my 3 policies in 4-5 months time

NB 3 cards with me as primary cardholder - Charge, Explorer and Edge

This is exactly my stand on this also.
These deals are incredible value and people still take advantage of them.

I guarantee most of these people are also the people that complain about companies not offering good deals in the future.

My memory is officially worse than a sieve. So google calender came to my rescue. All birthdays, holidays, meetings, flights and things I need to cancel or renew are entered into google calendar so I can access it almost anywhere anytime and know what I need to know.

Completely agree with all of this.

20K points posted today. Now like everyone else, just need to remember to cancel policy when 6 month period is up.

What was the process they commenced to reclaim points ? Did u cancel the card ?

I would have thought AMEX would have agreements in place with their airline partners where any points could be revoked from a FF account if not earnt within the rules.

And to be honest if it was possible I would hope AMEX did revoke the points.

Signed up for this deal on my two cards and paid the annual premium; I am now wanting to cancel my Amex cards to get my 18-month period started. Happy to hold on to the policy for 6 months as required but how would the balance of the premium be paid out if the cards are cancelled? Or do they send out refund cheques?

If you've paid the annual premium, then I can't see the 6 month holding being an issue - they've already got the money for the policy for a whole year.

The issue is where people cancel the policy after receiving the bonus within 6 months when they're paying monthly.
