Amex Plat Charge: 200,000 Membership Rewards sign-up bonus (until 8 October 2024)

Has anyone successfully signed up for the platinum to get the bonus points while holding a current amex CC? Or asked/offered and alternative benefit instead of bonus points if not possible?

Is this a targeted offer for you as a new cardholder ?

I have no idea why it was offered to me - I’m not a brand new holder
I don't think the referral is for new holders - seems to come and go, I'm guessing it's spend driven.

My 275k link reverted to 150k, but it's also back to 275k now. Last time lasted a number of months.

Do you mean to say high spenders are likely to get the higher referral offer ?

How high is high as per you ?

Just an educated guess, my wife's account had the boosted referral initially. We subsequently transferred all spend onto my card (which had the standard referral) and then I got the boosted offer.
