Amex Plat Charge: 200,000 Membership Rewards sign-up bonus (until 8 October 2024)

Has anyone successfully signed up for the platinum to get the bonus points while holding a current amex CC? Or asked/offered and alternative benefit instead of bonus points if not possible?
